I hope folks that are not skilled gunsmiths DO NOT attempt these adjustments, especially if you will be shooting at a public range! If you make the break too light or mess up the seer to spring engagement,  the gun can fire as soon as you depress the grip safety, very dangerous.  Nicely done sir, you are very skilled, you have obviously spent hundreds of hours honing your skills. The model trigger is really cool, reminds me of my grade school days and using my Erector Set building cranes.😅

Excellent video.  One thing I think worth mentioning too is the relationship on trigger pull induced by the compression of the mainspring.  Since this is actually forcing the sear into the hammer hooks, it stands to reason that the heavier the main spring tension, it will translate into a somewhat harder trigger pull.  I recently had been working on a Springfield Ronin 10mm 1911 and I tried putting a 19 pound mainspring in the gun.  No matter what I did, I got hammer follow when dropping slide.  Fortunately the hammer would always catch on the half-cock notches.  But as soon as I put a 21 pound main spring into the gun.  No more hammer follow.  I've also seen this relationship prove out further by going back to the stock 24 pound mainsprings that most 1911 manufacturers are putting into their 1911 pistols (I am talking real 1911, single stack guns of .45 ACP and 10mm).  I don't shoot 9mm so I can't speak to that setup as far as any differences there might be. When using the 24 lb spring it became much more difficult to get my trigger pull near my desired 3 to 3 1/2 pound pull and I had to make excessive sear tang adjustments as well as disconnecter tang adjustments.  I don't like monkeying too much with the tangs because especially if you have to start bending them in one direction and then bending them back the other way, you risk damaging the steel tension if you aren't careful.  SO my whole point here is that dropping your mainspring weight a bit lower can help in the fine tuning of the sear and disconnector tangs so that there is less adjustment necessary.  Am I correct in my assumptions here.  I'm really new to this and trying to learn as much as I can.  Absolutely love your instructional videos.  They have taken me far betond what I ever thought I would be capable of learning and actually doing.  Thank you!

Just to add to the compliments - your videos are a fantastic explanation of the ideas and processes involved in gunsmithing and so much of that knowledge is dying out. My bullseye gunsmith, Roddy Toyota, is/was a legend and the 45 he built me held a 1.25" group at 50 yards. But I don't shoot outdoor bullseye anymore so my interests are more specific to the 9's that I'm using. With the help and guidance on your videos I've slowly improved the Mac 9 to the point that it's now a better gun than the Staccato I was competing with. And this video in particular was super helpful in dialing the trigger to a crisp, reliable 3lbs for practical matches. Thanks!
