If a flaming head told me to leave within a year I would be gone yesterday.

When a demon hell hound is more of a realistic voice of reason than you are you know your entire existence was a sham 🤣

31:34 if you notice what Trevor says here is the same thing Dracula said to Alucard in the first episode.
"All these ordinary, good people you talk about? They all stood by and did NOTHING."
They have both lost faith in humanity and argue back that any one of them could have made a different choice and NONE of them did.

Damn! Castlevania out of nowhere, it's a pleasant surprise 🎉

First season Sypha vs last season Sypha is crazy. She started impressive and she became CRACKED.
Meanwhile Trevor and Alucard started cracked and got...creative haha

Bluefangs dropped some of the hardest lines in the whole series.

"One Year... I gave you one year to make peace with your God. And what do you do? celebrate the day you killed. My. Wife..."
I still get chills with that line. Dracula has the most justifiable crashout in history (which then becomes an unjustifiable genocide-suicide)

So here's some game lore for this season:

The first two seasons are adapted from Castlevania III, with a few characters and story elements from later games added in.
In the game, Trevor journeys through Wallachia to stop Dracula's reign of terror. Along the way he recruits three allies: Grant Danasty (who was sadly excluded from the show), Sypha Belnades, and Alucard; although you can only travel with one of them in game.

A couple of events directly adapted from the game are Trevor freeing Sypha by slaying the Cyclops, and his duel with Alucard.

In addition to the whip Trevor has access to several sub weapons. The ones represented this season are the knife, the axe, and holy water.

Alucard's design is from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and his sword is the Sword Familiar; one of his best weapons in the game.

You know, I love how Dracula is here. His anger is completely justified towards the church as an institution and those who murdered his wife. But against the people of Wallachia, it's going overboard. And the main thing I love about his desire for human extermination is because it's perfectly coherent to his character. He's incredibly powerful, perhaps the most powerful being in their setting, and powerful people tend to forget not everyone has access to the same resources and knowledge. He doesn't know what is like to be a helpless illiterate villager, scared and coerced their whole life by the church. It's not something he considers here because of that lovely old woman. She basically proofs not finding joy in such a monstrosity is a choice, just like finding is.

Walla'chi'ya

I just can't xD

Season 1 is so short because Netflix didn’t know if the show would succeed. They were testing the waters so to speak. Well, the show was a hit and if anything people were mad the season was so short, but many understood why. As far as I’m concerned it’s one of americas better attempts at a dark fantasy animated show. Awesome animation, great voice acting, pretty well written in general. Good music and sound design.

You know this whole series is thee most underrated animated show in the last 10 years easy

Wallacia was the name of the principality, in what is Modern day Romania. These are real cities on a map. Targoviste, Gresit, Varna.

this season's a lot like a proof of concept/feeler to see if there was any interest. safe to say, there was, lol!

Alucard is Dracula backward

"I feel like nothing even happened" after 1 episode wherein you meet Dracula, see his origin as the villain of the show, including the witch burning of his wife, then watch as he sends down hoards upon the land and slaughter the people.

10:00 that was SHOCKINGLY reasonable for him. ONE YEAR? That man could have killed everyone in Wallachia in like, a couple nights, and he gave them A YEAR to leave! More than generous! For the people who just murdered his wife! If it wasn't most likely out of love for his wife and the fact that she cherished humanity, I would say it was almost OUT OF CHARACTER how generous that was!

When this series 1st aired, it ended with everybody demanding more I believe Netflix did not have any real faith in this being a popular series so they didn’t really fund it very much. The writing and storytelling is really good and even though it only loosely matches up to the video games, it still is very satisfying.

The first season is just getting the gang together and putting together some backstory.  Also, fun fact...Alucard is Dracula spelled backward.
