You Don't Have to Be an Artist to Sketch (Beach Journaling)

You really, truly don't need formal training to sketch. Beginner's sketching is just sketching! It only takes a notebook, a pencil, and a little practice before what you put on paper starts looking like a true capture of what you're seeing. This is my full process at the beach: pencil on-site, then ink and watercolor at home.
I'm sketching my coffee cup in the sand at Zuma Beach, with the coastline behind it, This is a chatty process video with art tips and anecdotes.
