Favorite point made by Andy is  the last one. Then tweak from there.  Great info Andy loving these videos. So much food for thought!

Cool video, thanks

I love a front weighted dart they just fly so nice for me

Great video straight to the point (no pun intended) wish I had seen this before I got back into darts

I’m a mid gripper and have used 25g straight barrel darts for a long time. Recently switched to 32g Ryan Searle series 1’s and I feel my game has improved and getting a bit more consistent. Cheers for all your tips Andy, great content 🎯

I like a the ultra thin torpedo tapered ,I’m a rear thrower so no need for resting any fingers on the non existent front .Very good to see this video as my darts always land point down flights up ,so at least that’s pretty good then ,I struggle with other types of darts now ,so just stick with what works .very good advise here Andy .

You say for the first dart to hold middle or front for a front weighted dart well I’ve got barrel like that but it’s more at the rear of the barrel Andy

Recently found out my darts release point down and felt that i can only throw short darts. Thought it's a major problem in my throwing technique because everyone i see can throw a variety of darts and i mostly cant even get them to stay in the board. But even when i try to release earlier i cant get them out of my hand point upwards.. But like you explained it it probably is fine and i should just stick to short ones.

I was fortunate, got fitted in 1979 and the torpedo shape, medium stems with kite flights worked best for me. I have 22 gm, 24 gm and 25 gm. 2 sets each. I've settled on 25 gm now that I'm 75. They fly best for me now.

My darts sit downwards / flat - my old man too. People often say we’re throwing darts wrong even if we do beat them and score big! Get told to change darts and flights and darts still go in laying flat. I’ll show them this video!

Hey Andy, currently I'm using a medium, torpedo style barrel with short stems and kite flights, which suit my throw better because my centre grip and throwing action is a quite similar to John Lowe's, but still a bit faster and my darts tend to sit in the board just right for me, since I hate darts sitting up too high or sitting too low or flat.

I have been playing on and off for many years and having owned and thrown with a lot of various sets of darts over the years, I have learned to observe how much or little control of the darts I have when throwing and the darts I'm using I have good, solid control of them, but of course I still have to put the practice in and improve my own ability to use them to full effect in terms of my own ability and that will take time and effort, just like anything else.

Having seen a lot of players throwing darts that aren't right for them and they wonder why they are struggling to hit the intended targets or have no consistency is because they don't realise the darts or their set up isn't right for their grip style, location and throw mechanics.

As ive said before im a front gripper! On saturday i bit the bullet and got a set of winmau lunaris 24grm! Strangely enough they feel lighter than my gary anderson silver stars! Throw wise very similat although winmaus have more grip which im enjoying! Now i just need to spend more time throwing new ones and getting used to that grip difference! But hopefully theyll stop the slipping i get due to Yes sweaty hands!

The darts i throw with are the shot zen satori in 25g, but they tend to wobble with every stem length. I grip at the rear, i do get a lot of high scores, but the doubles are really bad. Should i try a shorter, front loaded barrel, or a barrel with a push point?

Who's got some good pust point , been throwing widows rear grip n need that last push point, i have to buy new set every season or so when the grip wears down i can't be consistent unless i got that grippy push point I think

I like rob cross g1 soft tip using them from 2018 bought new around 1,5 year fresh set cos the, wear out,now they stop making them 😌😪

I don't understand your theory on dart angle. If you keep landing tip down or tip up, won't they all deflect the same amount? Or are you assuming if first is tip up or down, the second shot should be flat, but then when about the third? If my first is flat, can't I attack with the angle up or down for the second throw, but then that still leads to a questionable 3rd dart angle of attack

I also noticed a wobbling dart in the air can be corrected by changing the stem length. I'm use short mainly and find wobble goes. But I noticed it with long barrels with long stems 😂. I like a good grip I like to be able to feel it. I'm a rear gripper and recently got Mission Mantis Darts. I'm impressed with how they group and very responsive when thrown. Good grip too, I find tapered darts not an issue as I tend to rest my ring finger either on or on the side of the point just where it leaves the barrel so more on the point section.
Do I like my darts yes 😂 sadly l have 4 different match darts Mission Hexon, Amberjack Pro 1, Caliburn Sword S4, and now Mission Mantis. I know I know tut tut. But it works for me and these darts for me respond the same way when I throw them and it's hard to just choose 1 when they all feel good in my hand and behave themselves lol

I´m a rear gripper. No matter what dart or setup I use, my darts always land flat in the board. If I use a short stem and big flight it raises the tail but barely noticeable. I prefer the feel of a longer stem. What would you recommend me?

Hi Andy can I ask you a question I grip most barrels 3 quarters up and put all but one finger on the barrel but find when I use a longer barrel to acomidate this the barrels fall out alot due to having a light throw I have tried sharpening the points any advice on this? thanks

How about pick a dart you like then learn /adapt your throw by tweaking technique? Else you’ll end up dumping loads of money on various darts by always swapping. 100,000 throws with any dart you’ll end up adapting
