It's pure genius how Cohen gets to make these smart jokes with his interviewees because they think he is ignorant; but because it's an innocent ignorance, they tolerate him which sets themselves up for the next joke.  And it always ends well.  One thing I love is the sensitivity Cohen can show while still staying in character, e.g.: "So if Jesus were alive today.... and I'm not saying he ain't..."  Without the second clause to that statement, the interview would have gone right off the rails.
