The thing that annoyed me the most is "what is the design of this hospital where the only way to get to the other building is THROUGH THE MATERNITY WARD?!" but I'm definitely overthinking it

I found the end to be a bit abrupt but I personally loved the movie. I felt the gaming DNA throughout without it being shoved in your face. I particularly loved him calling out the padlocks 😂

also having a terrible week and also really looking forward to this movie. the sound is fine, man, thank you for another awesome video.

Btw the scientist characters are so well casted, they were unexpectedly funny and dorky in a believable way.

Ethan Winters was an everyman, and people HATED him, so much so they blew him sky high in the very next game

just got out of my screening, die hard RE fan, and absolutely loved this. best possible argument from cregger on a non-canon adaptation (felt like he approached building the plot and set pieces with a similar philosophy to how requiem was made). i love cregger

Marshall, you’re one of my favorite recent channel discoveries on YouTube. Always excellent and insightful analysis. Thank you for what you do. Cheers from the States!

the ending to me felt like the studio being like this character can't be canon

17:39 it was 28 flights really. still a very doable number but you can kind of understand why he went with the elevator since it was working (the reason the guy warned him against it was structural issues with the building so it’s not like he knew there was an acid spitter there)

I saw it this afternoon on a double date & we all had a blast! It was so short, really funny, and had me holding my hands up to my face on several occasions. I wish the theater had been full just to have fun with a crowd, but oh well!

I can’t wait! I’m seeing it tomorrow I’ve loved everything this director has put out so far bc he balances comedy and horror so well!

Man, even my wife was gushing in the car ride home from the theater, and she hardly ever LIKES a movie, let alone loves it lol.

It was such a fun theater experience, the audience was into it and you really feel like you're along for the ride, plus the main character is relatable and flawed, not an expert marksman but he thinks his way through situation after situation and perserveres. This was such a good time, I love how BACK movies are lately.

Out of all the reviews I have seen on YouTube so far, yours is probably the most interesting and in-depth. I look forward to this movie even if some of the sequences do sound like something you would hear from a Resident Evil-themed stand-up routine, but I love Zach Cregger's work, including his Whitest Kids U' Know sketches.

12:30 the lame over explanation exposition scene is straight up Resident Evil.

Creggers knows his Resident Evil, even on the parts that are corny and dumb lol

Correct me if I’m wrong - but he essentially gets “killed” by the third zombie he meets. Feels pretty accurate that an Everyman wouldn’t survive beyond their third zombie.

I saw it yesterday, had such a good time. Wonderful Resident Evil Film, and i love the games too. <3

I’m so excited for this film!

18:16 yeah I agree about the stairs. As someone who used to work on the 5th floor of a building & took the stairs every morning, it's really not that bad... I feel like considering the danger of leaving the stairwell, it didn't make sense. Still thoroughly enjoyed the movie though. Thanks for your review!

Sorry  to hear you had a difficult week! Hope this week was kinder.  Appreciate you sharing your take on this film. I'm thinking to see it and Primetime at the drive-in cinema - bad idea?

Sending you guys love ❤
