I love Ari Aster, but I can't stand when people say they want original movies instead of sequels and reboots, but don't support the original movies when they come out like Black Bag and Eddington. Eddington has been out since July and it has made less than $12 million. If you love Ari Aster then you need to support him so he can keep receiving the funding he needs to keep making  great movies because these superhero movies are all the same and did we really need another Freaky Friday?

Oh my GOD thank you.  You are the first review I've seen that understands that the "antifa" are actually sent by the data center company

you missed  the fact that he saved Dawn from being shot when he jumped on her as they were starting to shoot through the window which i think has alot to do with why she takes care of him at the end

Holy shit it’s surreal to see my subreddit comment get a shout out 😂 I fucking love your videos man!

16:31 PSA, don't order from your partner's Etsy store, as that can get their shop permanently shut down! I actually just saw a post the other day where a guy did this for his wife, and she lost her shop because of it.

Basically, you are not allowed to buy from yourself, and if someone with the same address, WiFi, IP address, and/or bank information buys from you, Etsy may notice and flag it. NEVER let anyone in the same household as you buy from your shop.

joe's wearing the covid protection gear because lodge has covid, he was coughing over the protesters and when he's in the bar he's ranting about how it all tastes the same because he lost his sense of taste.

I think when people say they were shocked about seeing Pedro get killed was because they were expecting him to be in the movie longer because I definitely thought he was going to get killed by Joe but not until WAY later

There is a staggering amount of empathy in Eddington, honestly one of Aster's finest moments.

This is the first video of yours that I watch. Love your thoughts and appreciate how deeply you analyze the movie. It made me understand more nuances of „Eddington“, which in my opinion is a modern masterpiece.

I think the movie is both a perfect time period piece for the year 2020 in America, and the film actually answers the question that so many Americans are asking right now, which is how did Donald Trump get elected President again? The film accurately depicts the American left and right from that period, it portrayed the right as stubborn, crazy, but also regular citizens who have many qualities that are likable, and it accurately portrayed the left as annoying and patronizing, even if they were correct on some issues. It is a brilliant masterpiece of a film and what impresses me the most is the fact that the director had the balls to actually lift up a mirror to America and accurately depict it.

The fact that the data center was named after a Pokémon never left my brain, hilariously dark little touch there.

YESSSS i’ve been waiting for this one! so happy with an hour+ long discussion on this movie. love your stuff & appreciate your hard work dude!! :)

Very sharp writing. Every scene, even minimal ones like when Joe and Guy are talking about Mike in the interrogation room, have nuance and subtext. They’re both pretending to be on the laws side while having ulterior motives (scapegoating a murder/ racism/ competition)

You’re breaking the movie down so well but now I want to watch it again because the story is so well written and detailed. The humanity of it is so honest

I love how Lodge’s ramblings in the bar before Joe shoots him kinda acts like a mirror to Joe’s downfall, talking about ”bring her back to me” etc and coughing while deep in delirium

love your videos! you're great at what you do

your Joe impression is peak 😂, thank you for your service and the insightful analysis as always !!

Its so interesting watching this movie when you live in the SMALL town it was filmed in

Just saw this last night- what a ride.  I did not see that ending coming LOL.  The trailer did not prepare me 🤣

Excellent vid and following you on Letterboxd.
