I am an avid radio listener, and I consume varying types of audio media over the airwaves on a weekly basis.
But, is a change to Internet and App only based radio programming a good thing?
In this short video, I look at the shut down of Medium Wave broadcasts in the UK, and look at one of the transmitter sites that is about to close for good.
What is the future of radio, with an ever increasing number of daily listeners?

Interesting to learn about the BBC Radio Gloucestershire transmitter .
I listen to radio every day. It’s even on during the night.
I engage with the presenters daily and local radio is like a community to me. Particularly BBC Local radio.
I was invited along to BBC Somerset to chat about my YouTube channel a few years ago and the presenter and producer said that if ever I fancied a change of job, to consider radio.
That was huge for me!
It led me to listening to more and more local radio and engaging with lots of shows and presenters.
I made a few radio packages which got played out and they said that they were really good quality.
So, when I saw a local community radio station (you mentioned it in your video Paul - Apple FM) advertising for volunteers, I applied and am now a volunteer on the community show which is so interesting and rewards as I get out and about chatting to some really inspiring local people and I enjoy editing it, like I do with YouTube videos.
I work with a really nice group of people on the radio team too.
Radio is a huge part of my life.
