The idea of Mechani Kong (one of the most rudimentary and classical looking robot Kaiju) as an early tech in dealing with monsters is really smart

I love that instead of being portrayed as either completely useless or OP, the Mechani Kongs are grounded and actually effective against smaller and equal-sized threats. Special props to the Mechani Kong pilot who speared the Snow Ape off the cliff.

I love how the series doesn't try to confine itself to just "spooky analog horror" and has lighter and more whimsical episodes too.

The mere thought of a battle where Godzilla fought alongside Gamera to defeat Ghidorah, accompanied by Gyaos, simply gives me goosebumps.
Basically, it's the force of nature against the destructive forces of incarnate chaos, the false king and the vampiric plague: Ghidorah and Gyaos.

To not only have the balls to depict Barugon's Rainbow Ray but to also have the talent to pull it off

I like how the military was able to successfully gun down the yetis instead of being completely helpless and incompetent

"I can't shake this feeling that we upset a natural balance."

Minus One in the ice: "That's cute."

4:14 BRO, The idea of the Mecha Kongs being used to fight Kaijus like Pacific Rim is so rad, such a cool idea for an adaptation

23:43 Not seeing many people talk about it, but the reveal of Carl Majors being frozen in ice with a horrified stare was genuinely unsettling in the best way possible!

You can tell this man LOVES Kaiju media if he’s willing to have Gigantis on here!

The niche references and obscure Kaiju appearances are so much fun here. This has become the best Godzilla horror series on YouTube IMO.

17:24 The fact that Lost Utopia can make a 100 ft tall Kaiju seem huge to people, but small to other Kaiju, is astounding!

[MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING]

I gave Shelter 54 the title of “the best Godzilla fan film”, and now I can give The Subzero Terror the title of “The best Gamera fan film”

So a tribe of abominable snowmen, with a bigger version of themselves from the Hanna-barbera cartoon worship a showa era gamera monster, whilst also living on an island with gamera on it…

I need more of this injected into my veins.

My father was a mechanikong pilot. I remember when he let me ride on his lap while he took his mechanikong unit on patrol for my 8th birthday, it was the best birthday present I had ever gotten.

I also remember when he said he had to go for a while, that “he was gonna save a lot of people from some monsters”. He said he would be back before the week ended…and when an army officer came and told my mother he had died. He was in the mechanikong unit that Barugon destroyed when it first woke up….so there was nothing left of his corpse for us to bury at the funeral.

I joined up with the UNGCC as soon as I was of age and graduated from the mechanikong training academy, to honor my old man and continue the legacy he started. The UNGCC has since made many upgrades to the mechanikong models for future pilots but the design is quickly becoming outdated as new monsters keep appearing and the old ones adapt to the kongs. Ive heard some rumors flying about that the UNGCC is designing a whole new model of mecha-units to replace the kongs. My only hope is that these “MG” units will be better prepared for any new monster appearances, I don’t want my family to lose me like how I lost my dad.

This take on Barugon is pitch-perfect. It's lizardy, but doesn't lose the pointy derpiness of the original suit. It's cute, but still sleek and menacing. And the distinctive horn and spike shapes are on full display, without being toned down or overemphasized.

I love the little missable details in this, like the movie being produced by "Denham Pictures" as a reference to the original King Kong. Really makes the world feel more of its own and real, so to say.

This is genuinely the best lore depiction of a “monsterverse” ever constructed. Unbelievably unique and imaginative on top of being well thought out and beautifully executed. Honestly unbelievable.

'its not an island, its a ship' line made me more love this series, this series is more monsterverse than the real monsterverse

My uncle was in the Mechanikong corp. saw action against Ebirah on Oahu back in '78
