Full Setup & First Cleaning: Roborock Curv 2

Just A Dad Approved

Unboxing, setup, and a full first-cleaning test of the brand new Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow—including my world-famous Corner Cleaning Studio mess, a carpet pickup test, and a walk-through of the Roborock app settings you actually need to know. Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow Robot Vacuum and Mop https://amzn.to/4t24l7G

In this video I show everything in the box, the dock and tank setup (clean/dirty water + dust bag), and a close look at the robot’s design: LiDAR navigation, camera + LED light, dual split roller brush (great for long hair), dual side brushes, and the big headline feature—this mop roller system with hot water washing and hot air drying at the dock. We also talk specs and real-life usability: robot height (it’s tall), dock measurements, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi setup, firmware updates, and the settings that matter (carpet boost, cleaning patterns, re-mopping options, drying schedules, obstacle photos, and more).

I buy and test products with my own money so you don’t waste yours. This is the home of honest, real-world reviews — no sponsorship bias.

I buy and test these products so you don't have to! For the full breakdown and my 'Just a Dad Approved' list, check out my website: https://justadadapproved.com/

Lack of a brush extend for the corners is a major miss on what looks like a good robot.

@skulldish5956 8 months ago

Maybe it was spinning the mop roller in the cover because the mop was still wet? Doing a bit of extra spins helps the roller not drip water onto the cover, which could spill out into the carpet. This would explain why it only did the extra spins that one time, and not any time after that.

Thanks for saying also in cm and m!

So on the topic of no mop only mode:

I believe it’s because this isn’t a roller vacmop like the F25, but more of a Shark Hydroduo. Roller mops without a wet vacuum sucking debris off the roller don’t do well with pet hair. I have both the Shark Hydroduo and the Shark Steam Pickup 3-in-1, which both leave wet pet hair stuck to the ground.

I believe roller mop robot vacuums force you to use a vacuum mode in tandem do that so that the user isn’t disappointed when they realize the weakness of a non-suction roller mop.

As a first timer shopping for a robot vacuum, I chance upon your YouTube channel for reviews and I'm so glad to know you do in depth reviews of robot vacuum. You put a lot of effort, time, money just to make reviews so we can be better educated as to which brand/model to buy that will suit our needs. My concern is more on the long term usage like a couple of years from now. How's the spare parts availability? I mean, a robot vacuum is not cheap and I don't want to spend that much money only to find out spare parts are already phased out once a newer model is introduced to replace the older model. Take this model for example, there are a lot of moving parts that eventually will fail due to normal usage. That will render my robot vacuum useless. Thank you!

Roborock was one of the brands I really wanted to buy, but unfortunately there’s a lack of support in my region, at least for now.
One suggestion: it would be great if you could measure the amount of hair dropped during testing and then weigh how much the robot actually collects after vacuuming. That would make the results much clearer and easier to understand on paper. Thank you.

Hello Sir.
I think long pile carpet setting means, that the robot keeps main brush high. Avoids tangling on the carpet so not cleansing as good as it can?
Right?

Mop rolling on carpet was probably a safeguard for not to make a mess on the carpet. Mop was probably wet so it was scraping water of behind the cover?

You are just like me. Messing with every settings and learning alot, but in the hard way 🙃❤️.

Anyways.
Your videos are excellent and very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Greetings from Finland

It does have dirt detection. Last week mine detected sunlight as a stain and started to mop it 😂😂

Do to your review i bought 2 of these. One upstairs and the other down. These are great robot vacs. The miss they have is it can not go over more than 3/4 in threshold. So my first floor has a threshold 1" on one side and 3/4 on the other. No problem with the 3/4 but the 1" it just can't do it, so I ordered the ecovac t90. It has no issue getting over the threshold but then goes back to it and stays on it. I tried everything, nothing worked. Also when I clean a one room it would go into 2 other rooms I have thresholds that I setup. And they are different rooms. I have up. Also the robo app is so much easier 2 use. I will keep both curve 2s. Send back t90. Love the all in one station curve2 has and the packing is the best ive ever seen. Robo did an excellent job with that. Also I like the bags over Bagless. Big misses on the curve2. Can't go under my couch, t90 does. No threshold climb. Front sweeper should extend. No hot mopping. But even with those short falls the curve is still a better machine. Its navigation is very good compared to ecovac. Its connection to wifi is beats ecovac. We had that disconnect issue with our older evac. But never with our older roborock or this new one. So robo if your listening work on those solutions.
Just a dad, fantastic review, you give a very honest review, wish others did the same. Keep it up. And thank you for your time. Now I will go to you home page.

33:38 I think mop only mode is not there to prevent dust or hair clogging the scraping/dirty water collector system whereas a typical spinning mop doesn't have to worry about this...

@kattypan3293 8 months ago

i think this robot is good and reliable if you can live with no corner cleaning, detergent dispenser and threshold climbing. otherwise z60 may be better or wait for s70/z70

@mikearrigo5674 8 months ago

A lot of the roller mop robots don't have a mop only mode, the ecovacs models don't have it either, I'm not sure if the Dreametech and Mova roller models have it.

What I’ve been waiting for! Mop roller from roborock!

@PrepperPotpourriEscapes 8 months ago (edited)

So can you pick rooms to vacuum and mop more frequently and only do full house maybe every week or so? Soes it streak dry on granite tiles?

@woodyp173 8 months ago (edited)

Just received ours yesterday. So far so good. Love the mop roller better than the spinning mop pads 110%. Using the Roborock mop liquid. No streaks once it dries. The direction say 2.5 caps for 4 to 5 liters. Added my caps then water to dilute. There is so much customization with this reboot. Having so much fun learning the new features. Like it said you can’t turn it over with the dirty water tank attached almost did and immediately started leaking 😂. FYI if you have corridors or hallways listed on your map it will automatically turn up the suction to pick up more trash in the AI mode so far. Maybe because these are considered high traffic areas in most homes. I want to say when it comes to vacuuming the floors are washing the mop roller it’s tad bit louder than the Mova P10 Pro ultra 1st generation but I feel like the build quality is much better. Like you said it’s heavy and feels like it’s built like a tank. 😂 So far it has recognized every cord and obstacle and avoided them. Just my 1st day. Let’s see how it goes for 45 days and I will report back. Oh yeah so far corner clean up is not bad as I thought it would be without the extended brush. The brushes on the front are pretty long. Does not go under my sofa and a few other places but I knew that going in. I am sure the future premium thinner Roborock vacuums with the roller will be much more expensive 😊

@herbicide47 8 months ago

It definitely lifted the nose when it first went over the threshold. It may be defective. Would you consider returning it?

@tmoltmo2400 8 months ago

Great video and good robot for the price. I imagine Roborock will eventually come out with a robot with an extending arm, lowerable lidar and threshold climbing.
Hopefully Curv 2 Flow Gen 2 soon ;-)
