ONE YEAR UPDATE: How all the mods have held up!

https://youtu.be/GopuPEmoD-k?feature=shared

I bought a 4x4 slash with the brushed motor, it was my first rc since I dove into the world and I was super happy with it.(have had it for 6 months about) Great starter car, and as my knowledge grew, I was able to upgrade the car at a pace and price that was very reasonable. I have upgraded shocks, brushless 2-3s motor esc combo, front and back lights, spektrum reciever, and I used spectrum across the board so i can use the cell phone dash board and my dx3 transmitter from my infraction. All very reasonablely priced options imo. Love the rc life.

Never thought you had an RC channel, that thumbnail font was like... That's Zack from Shooting cars? Yes it is! 😅

I never thought id say this, but, I really dig the metal flake.   Looks awesome.

You have Talked about the Traxxas 4X4, I am actually buying one used Rally chassis and turn it into a beast.

They still make the version you have of the slash ultimate and they now make a clippless version. But traxxas did factor that in to the price. So retail is around $530

You forgot to add a roof guard

Gotta hit those jumps with more authority, i know its counterintuitive but a big send into the proper landing zone is easier on the rig than flat or uphill landings

I just happened across your channel, I'm into crawlers. That shop has been there through it all, I remember it as a kid. I'm an old man now lol

Shout out to Eugene Toy & Hobby! My local shop too, awesome.

I built my Slash for max speed, since the lack of aero causes the body to fill with air and flip at speeds over 40mph. I added a custom made carbon fiber splitter and air dam, gt wing and vents in the back, so I can now easily reach top speeds over 60.

'so shiny' for the body means we can actually see his face reflected when he pulls off the plastic layer😲😲😲
super nice job man love your slash

Awesome build man. I'm dusting off my Slash 4x4 and E-Revo after watching this. Great video mate

I enjoyed this video even though I'm a little bored with the Slash platform, I still have 4 of them and still drive them often though.

I have the ultimate same exact one and i  have way more fun with my 2wd then i do the ultimate its alot funner to drive but only if you set it up right

Bro be careful about that motor heatsink i did the same thing and put it on like that but the motor wires get torn up by rubbing on the sharp heatsink fins and the copper gets exposed in the motor wires. It happened to me but it’s an easy fix. Just get some heat shrink tubing and put it on the wires and change the motor mount position so the wires are facing to the side, not up.

Plus the battery an charger 👍🏽

13:55 I watch a rc video that he put a Wheel balancing weights around inside the wheel mugs. And it added a weight and performs well.

Zack definitely should do an overhaul to the original. It'd be a fun video series to see it slowly taken apart and restored/upgraded, or even converted into something new
