We didn't know how good we had it....

Who would of thought when we were watching this as teenagers in 1977 that in 2025 we would be watching it again on our phones.

There will never be another Tonight Show like this.

Ed was absolutely sloshed during those introductions. 😅

Johnny handled that in only a way HE could - making the situation as funny as possible.

Johnny, Ed, Doc, and Tommy Newsome.....it just doesn't get any better than that!

This show was the center piece of 99% of Americans TV experience for decades!!

Gosh do I miss Johnny and the Tonight Show.

I've seen the last four minutes, but I've never seen the opening monologue. Oh my gosh, that was HILARIOUS. Carson was really cracking up about Ed.

Ed McMahon was terrific and an unsung hero.

I was 10 years old when this aired I would sit at the top of the stairs keeping quiet thinking I fooled my parents. The very next year I was finally able to stay up and watch Johnny. That's when my parents let me know I didn't fool them. 😂

It is hilarious that comedy and laughing out loud can revamp through the ages! Humor is what life is about!

I busted out laughing when Johnny asked Ed if he was really fooling everybody.  It's clear by the time Johnny got through the monologue and they're sitting at his desk that Ed was three sheets to the wind. 😂

Time is so funny...Many of the references are almost completely forgotten..

I was 23 years old in '77, and life was Good, and Carson made it Good if Ed was drunk, I never noticed who cares, then all in fun, like as it should have been, God Bless For Carson, He made us happier Johnny RIP with ED both icons!
