Thank you for taking the time to explain this problem. Cheers

It's awesome that you not only state what the setup situation is causing, but you tell how to fix it. Bike setup is such a science and an art.

Wow! That specific finger positioning was what I was missing all along!

Great job with the camera work. Especially getting a close-up of the saddle from the side at the height of the saddle.🫡♨️

Thanks for taking the time to explain this in such detail. This was very helpful.

The before and after images are great!

My pressure point is between my index and my thumb

Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!
You're the N. 1!!!

12:30 i rarely ever hear anybody talk about handlebar reach when calculating ideal fit. and especially as a way to compensate reach

Dougie,

You have used the "level" drop bar rotation as a point of departure for the hood positioning without providing a full bio-mechanical rationale for the ("traditional") level drops set-up.

However, when riding in the drops, a "level" drop bar position generally leads to significant forward rotation of the wrists -- whereas upward rotated bars leads to less rotation on the wrists.  Similarly,  when riding behind the hoods on the tops, a level drop bar position generally leads to forward rotation of the wrists -- whereas upward rotation of the bars lessens the wrist rotation.

These wrist rotation factors (via the bar rotation) would, presumably, be traded-off against the hood-position impact of the hand-bar interface when riding on the hoods.  That said, adjustments to the hood positioning provides some counter-balance for the hand-bar interface that don't require foregoing the lessened wrist rotation that rotated bars admit.

Your thoughts?

Спасибо за видео!
Ранее поднимал руль, как вы и показали вначале , а нужно было поднять дуалы. Опустил сидушку и руки перестали неметь ! Спасибо

Thank you. very interesting. But there's so many things to consider about getting the right bike fit. It gets confusing.

Great video!

I thin its worth mentioning that crank length can affect the adjustability of the saddle position in relation to where the knee flexes. If too long the saddle setback has a limit were knee pain can develop to compensate for excessive reach, too far forward. Still there is a sweet spot where the weight distribution should be centered over the bike which works well for varied road grades. It might be safe to say that saddle setback should be 6 to 7 cm.

Nice one🤙

Numb hands are caused by tennis elbow which are locked into a position for too long which creates tension in the tendons quick fix hold arm out straight and bend the hand up for few seconds then down repeat all numbness will disappear and strengthen the tendons

Excellently explained! Thank you. If your bikefitting shop was a bit closer I would definitely give it a try (Denmark here).

I will try these tips!
I'm really suffering from these numb fingers. In my previous bike and also on my new one the struggle continues. Im 196 cm and heavy at the chest and shoulder. Maybe that's the reason. The numb fingers are really taking a lot of joy away from my daily cycling trips.
Hopefully this will decrease this a little!

That is  a great video with understandable explanations! Weather is really ugly in Germany  today...so next action is I put my bike on the kickr and try what is shown...Thank you very much 👍💪🚴‍♂

But I like my brooks c17 because it flexes nicely . Is this why I cant get in the drops ?
