I love how natural physically is Belle and down to earth and humble. Like she doesnt feel she needs to impress people. Very admirable, strong, kind woman who deserves all the happiness in the world.

His character was evident from the very beginning. The first red flag was his refusal to accept the original terms of the prenuptial agreement.

I’m happy she succeeded, on her own merit - best selling book, Netflix rights. Look at what you’ve accomplished Belle.

the way he wanted the pre-nup was a freaking red flag, and him waiting until 5 days before the marriage... there was something wrong there... and then she bought the 2 houses with her own money.... he knew exactly what he was doing.

I think the thing that struck me most was the dude wanted her to say the divorce was amicable. Gaslighting 101

The big red flag was that he was a workaholic and didn't really pay attention to her or the kids for 20 years.

Thank god he just left, and didn’t annihilate the family.  He sounds like an absolute psychopath.

For what it's worth, husband IS NOT a "looker".  Belle gained more than he ever could!!!!!

This lady is so young looking,  has such a great energy, very humble, gentle.
He is crazy for leaving her

I actually just watched Belle’s Oprah interview and wanted to comment there. Comments were turned off. Just felt the need to say that I think her ex-husband was an incredible louse in the way he treated her emotionally and financially. She clearly seemed genuinely honest and even overly kind in her telling of her/their story, and based on that I felt so angry myself at the way he treated her. She deserved  so much better. He should have been and still should be the one to feel deeply ashamed. Thats how he chose to treat his wife of 20 years, the mother of his children. Dispicable! Im so glad Belle found herself in the end and realized how much better her life was without him in it! He’s not a good person and she’s better off without him.

Leaving a marriage after two decades without apparent regret usually points to a man who has emotionally detached long before the physical exit. He may have spent years "quietly quitting" the relationship, processing the breakup internally so that by the time he leaves, he feels a sense of relief rather than loss

The fact that he didn’t want joint custody of his children showed his selfishness!

Leaving her and the children during the trauma of COVID is really creepy.  Double whammy!

She is not only very intelligent and beautiful but also a extremely sweet person.

This evil evil man. My heart hurts for her

Belle is such an elegant lady. She is a wonderful mother. Her children will appreciate her sacrifices once they grow up. I I am glad she has moved on and finding a new chapter in her life.

This exact same thing happened to me.  Her husband called me, too.  The floor is where you go.  But, 35 years later, my life is amazing!  I'm single and so very happy!

This story hits home in many many ways ..  too similar … difficult to watch. Fast forward after 10 years I raised my kids on my own. He’s slowly come back to my children’s life … as an Uncle sounds about right. He never lived the difficult growing pains. My kids are wonderful adults . I’m so proud of them. I’m proud of myself for holding on. Women must know we can survive gracefully. 💗

Her best comeback is freedom in the wholesome sense of the word: financial, as far as self love, everything.
After 20 + years, she deserves it all.👠❣️⚘️👏🏾

A good addendum to this is what Ethan Hawke said on the red carpet last week: “The one who’s in love always wins. It doesn’t matter if you get your heart broken; you’re living, and when you’re feeling, you’re alive”
