My 24 year-old daughter was scammed out of her entire $9000 savings that she was saving for four years to buy a car! She is a college student in Eugene, Oregon and she reported it to the police. The police did nothing about it. It was the exact scam that the police officer was mentioning in the video about the bank, calling her and on her caller ID it had Wells Fargo her branch’s number. It sounded like an English speaking person that raised no red flags had all of her personal information that this person read to her so she did not have any alarm bell’s ring in her case. They texted her the code and she read the code back to them and seconds after she read the code back to them she thought oh my goodness, what did I just do. She immediately called me. We got on the phone with the bank. Wells Fargo said it was too bad too late they can’t do anything about it. The police didn’t do anything about it. We are now hiring an attorney, is there anything else we can do? This happened about six months ago.
The reason they never did those cell phone jammers is because they knew back in 2019 they were tossing around the idea of giving all of the inmates iPads. Which we all know, they have done. Courtesy of the taxpayer. 🙄
