Paying £1000 per month to keep money in the bank? How did that not set off the alarm bells?

Loneliness is bad, but it would rather be better to be alone than falling into the hand of the wolves out there taking advantage of vulnerable women.

Even if this was real, it was not her responsibility to make any of these payments on his money.

There's so many lowlives around. Sad women feel stupid when they encounter these losers.
As soon as money enters picture - run as fast as you can.

It always seems to be the same script, and incredibly wealthy man needs loan after loan, that alone should ring alarm bells, surely someone that wealthy would know other wealthy people to lend from. The bloke they caught only got 45 months, I think it should be more personally!

It takes a lot of guts to come out and explain your story and the mistakes you made for an international program.

How can anyone leading a productive life spend up to 4-5 hours a day chatting to a person they have just met on the internet?

You don't owe these people anything, a couple of dates mean nothing. Never get involved with someone else's finances.

There's something called the "sunk cost fallacy" going on here. The victim hands over some money and is then made to feel they need to keep paying in order not to lose what they've already paid. The cruel irony is that the more they've been scammed, the more they believe they'd better keep up the payments in order not to lose everything.

I just don't know how you could have fallen for this; it was red flags flying high and neon lights flashing.

Lynn seems like a genuinely nice woman. But I can’t help feeling so annoyed by stories like this. She’s very naive.
