Just the fact that the phrase "You were always a big fish" could move someone to tears is a real testament to the power of storytelling.

This movie has stayed with me ever since I first saw it.

The sons story ends with everyone gathered and theres not a sad face to be found. Exactly what happens at the funeral.

Big Fish was a very personal movie for Tim Burton, his father just passed away and he started the project of Big Fish and I personally think this is one of his best.

As soon as I knew you were going to react to Big Fish, I knew the thumbnail would be Simone with tears in her eyes.

Love this movie so much. I hear Simone on not watching it again, but like the stories, it gets better each time you see it.

The Twins being conjoined in the story was probably because he described them as being 'joined at the hip', meaning they went everywhere together, which is still true at the end.

That was so sweet how Simone's kitty gives her cuddles at the end to try to make her not sad 🥲

Aaw shit.. Here I go crying again

As someone whose dad is in a nursing home after taking care of my mom while she died, I’m ready to cathartically cry during this.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time.

If you get it, you get it.

My impression is that this movie has helped many who have lost their parents, and rewatching it brings back both laughter and tears.

Every story Edward told was a metaphor. That was demonstrated in his wedding toast. Edward's big fish story was the story of him starting his own family (using a wedding ring) and he even said he had always hoped his son would catch a big fish too, and now he had on his wedding day. Will was just so focused on the truth that he didn't hear the meaning.

I just lost my dad yesterday. His stories, while not as exaggerated as the ones here, all told his life in the best way. And now I hope that my kids are able to carry on my stories about our lives in the same way.

Big Fish is a personal movie. My father nearly passed away from surgery gone wrong. While he was in the hospital we rented the movie. None of my siblings had any idea what the movie was about, other than Tim Burton directed the movie. All of us cried hard. For a  movie that can connect us emotionally, it did its job.

As of this writing my dad is 74 years old and still alive. I cherish every moment I can while he’s here on earth.

He had a drudge of a job that required him to miss out on his family and all he had were the stories.

They were Siamese twins, just actual from Siam and not conjoined 😊.

“The search for truth vs. the search for meaning.  It’s two different things.”

As Bloom described his son, “All the facts,  none of the flavor.”

For all the memorable movies in the Burton library, this one is arguably the best and most underrated, IMO.

This is not only the first time I cried in a movie theater but for 10 straight minutes.

My dad passed away almost 4 years ago, and can't watch it without sobbing!
