Exciting action of NBA basketball as the L.A. Lakers & the Philadelphia 76ers meet again. This was one of those games that made me excited to watch the NBA. The end-to-end transition basketball was awesome. Rebounds, inside game, outside shooting, loose balls, coaching, transition defense to offense. This series had it all.

Bob McAdoo's acquisition was just as important to the Lakers as Bill Walton's acquistion in 1986 for the Celtics. Two teams with Hall of Fame centers and they can bring a Hall of Fame center off the bench.

I attended the first game of each playoff round.
This was so exciting I thought the Spectrum was going to collapse.

Dick Stockton had a crystal ball. He kept saying in the 1st half a 10 to 12 point lead is nothing in this series. The Lakers were down by 15 then up by 16 a few minutes later

I often find it hard to watch the current version of the NBA. This is the good stuff.

I know Franklin Edwards. After he retired from the Sacramento Kings, he played on a slow-pitch softball team I was on and I got to know him. The last time I saw him was at a club in Roseville, CA called Classic Jukebox, which ironically enough is the band I manage and my Youtube user name...

The toll of playing in Eastern Conference compared to the West on full display in the 2nd half. 76ers having to go through Milwaukee and Boston definitely left them depleted. LA went undefeated in the West and had the energy to spare to play through the rust from the long layoff.

This was basketball at its finest from the golden age of hoops. It doesn't get any better than this.

Miss the sage wisdom of Bill Russell as the analyst. He made great points in particularly on how interconnected the playoff games in a series can go in terms of building momentum for the next games.
