Going to attempt this tomorrow. I’ve got all the gear but no idea so here it goes!

Small observation, the breather pipes from the gearbox or transfer box  are hanging loose, under the bonnet, could do with hooking over one or other of the pipes to keep it them place...

Excellent very informative

do NOT grease the slidy joint not the prop shaft.  Ok, a tiny amount.  It will pack at the end and restrict how far in it can go.  Eventually push gearbox mount away.

Martin, apart from replacing steering box, what's a good way of minimising a weeping steering Box from big nut underneath on a td5 disco?

hello,  what you did with the pedel to bleed the fuel filter would that be same as a TD5 disco 2?

Correct me if im wrong, but did you only do the centrafugal filter in the service, as I thoughtnyou werengoing to do the oil filter also

… what about the second Oil Filter??? You only mentioned it…

Thank you for the presentation and Greetings from Paris !  I have a defender TD5 year 2003.  If I up-shift quickly with high RPM from 1st to 2d, or 2d to 3d, I feel a crunch/grind in my hand (not so loud to hear it in the vehicle, I can just feel it with my hand).

If I leave the RPM/rev normal, and leave a 1 second pause on Neutral between these gears, all is fine.

No crunch when downshifting. The gearbox runs with new MTF94 oil.

Is this a normal behavior for a R380 ? Are we supposed to UP shift slowly with these gearboxes, losing momentum ?

Losing momentum is not an issue on flat road, but annoying when climbing a slope.
