Hello, I stayed at this exact hotel a year ago. Overall, it's a very nice place with lots to see and to do. I really liked the food, I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the hotel complex is very dated. I'm from Germany, but I would still fly there again.
It's very good value and 3 stars... dinner gets boring after a couple of days, but the location on the beach is brilliant and the staff is great... it's a good base with a short taxi or walk into town... I liked it, especially for what I paid!
Just found you guys a few weeks ago as I had just got back from Benidorm and found your Benidorm In a day as I was having Benidorm blues lol think Iβve just got caught up on them keep up the vlogs β€ xx
Google Riu Oliva demolition. Since it was built the area has become a national park and an order has been passed by the gov for its demolition. How long it will take, who knows, but I wouldn't expect it to be refurbished.
Hi R@R, another enjoyable vlog, all-inclusive is not for you 2, searching every day for your meals and cheap deals is more up your street, βοΈπ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
great video guys! i have just booked this place for november this year, we got it dirt cheap for 10 nights, Β£690 each. we are going not to expect much, but i think like anywhere you go, you make out of it, what you make out of it. Just hoping the weather is decent in november.
Hi troops, another great video. If you want a cheap all inclusive try out the globales tamaimo tropical, it's in puerto de santiago. Best 3star all-inclusive we have visited.
I bin to this hotel 5 times it's the government won't let them do it up because it's on protected land and they want it gone but riu own the island facing it. and won't give it back to the government there in a stand off . The beach it's on is 1 of the best on the island don't listen to these morons u don't go away to sit in ya room . What do u want for 300 a week all-inclusive it's a bargain plus u stayed in the village at the back ask for sea view room the view is amazing
A fair and balanced review guys. We love the hotel for it's 1970's 'Retro feel' - and it's in a truly fantastic location. Food is average - I love it (I'm not a fussy eater) but 'she who must be obeyed' is of the same opinion as yourselves. Sadly, RIU aren't going to chuck money at a renovation at the Oliva (nor it's sister hotel next door - the Tres Islas) when there's the Sword of Damocles now hanging over both their futures. I only hope that the people who are responsible for whinging about these two hotels (that lest we forget have been there for 50 bloody years!) are happy that they're making around 600 staff jobless, when they're bulldozed! Apparently, they "spoil the landscape".....I wouldn't consider 2 hotels throughout a 10kms stretch of sand dunes competing against the Manhattan skyline exactly. In the interim, RIU are offering very decent rates for both hotels. Yep, rooms are now a bit worn - but clean. Yep - the food isn't Michelin quality (is ANY 3 Star all-inclusive?) - but more than edible. It will be heartbreaking when these two hotels are flattened. So many happy memories, for so many people across the decades......and a major contributor to Corralejo's economy (in terms of tourism, employment, supply chains, etc.) extinguished. Sorry - rant over.
Great vlog guys. Thanks for showing us the hotel. My opinion is that hotel has definitely been left behind in the 1990's. Oh dear. Even the low price does not justify how out of date it has become. You are too nice to call it someone else's treasure.
