Today's video is all about: Super Typhoon Sinlaku Leaves it's Mark on Guam

If you didn't know, Guam gets typhoons and not hurricanes or cyclones. Due to where Guam lies in the Pacific Ocean, it is prone to annual tropical weather systems, some more serious and dangerous than others.

Typhoon Sinlaku was the first Typhoon to pass near Guam in 2026. It was also the strongest storm on Earth in the year of 2026. Despite Guam being lucky and having spared stronger devastation, it will still be a storm to remember. As you can see in the video, the coastal inundation was very severe, more so than that of 2023 Typhoon Mawar.

This is a vlog of showing you the aftermath, and how indirect Typhoon hits can still leave a mark on Guam. The last 5 days have been rough, but nothing in comparison to what are neighbors, Tinian & Saipan are dealing with. Let's all pray and hope for a speedy recovery for all.

I lived on Guam for 29 years and was there for typhoons Omar, Paka, Pongsona, and Chataan. It was truly incredible to watch the raw power of these typhoons.

I have family members in Hawaii, and they've kept us informed about all the flooding. Your situation is quite different. Hopefully, your power will be restored soon!

I was 4 years old when Typhoon Pamela hit in 1976. It was extremely scary and I nor my family will ever forget that dreaded day. The last Typhoon I experienced back home was Typhoon Yuri….that was wild. Thanks for the footage Matt. I’m glad everyone is safe back home. ✌🏼

I've lived through many typhoons that hit Guam during my years living there (1975-1997). It'll take time, patience, and community-help for Guam to rebound. All the leaves will grow back, it will be green again. Just help your neighbors with the cleaning, do welfare checks on neighbors to make sure they are ok, and volunteer whenever & wherever you are able to

This is a great example why we always wish these storms to pass to the south... to protect Tumon Bay. Onshore flow at high tide is never a good outcome. 😯 😞 We were without power for 49 hrs, 14 min in Tamuning where we live, but others weren't so lucky.

Well, here in Tinian, we got the 3 hour long eye followed by the most devistating wind reversal I have ever experienced. And I go back to typhoon Paka.. Mawar was similar as the storm decided to park on top of us for an eternity. Last tyrphoon here in the CNMI, Tinian took 5+ months to get power retsored... they already told us to expect the same, if not longer.

You should’ve been there for Supertyphoon Paka in 1997.. no power for 6 months, no water for 3 of those months.. it’ll take a long time for recovery unfortunately. Island life.

You’re gonna have to sleep on the tile in your place to keep cool at night or have a battery operated fan. Wipe your feet with a damp towel and let it cool naturally. Unfortunately the power company has not improved much over the decades so it will be a few weeks before power is back to normal. Gather some water in large clean plastic trash bins to shower and flush with. The mayors or military will send some potable water tankers for people some time so you can cook and drink. Welcome to Guam life.

Gosh this is just devastating. I'm in Hawaii and we have our share of devastation unfortunately every so often. As an animal lover, I really worried about the boonies there. I worry about all animals when the weather is really bad, but it hits exceptionally hard when you have such a large population of cats (Hawaii) or dogs (Guam) outdoors 😭

Hi Matt! How are you doing? I'm doing good here. Power is on and water is still strong. Gotta wait for my wifi to be fixed because it's not working and it got damaged. But I have data. It's very fast.
