This movie was advertised in Sweden as "It's so funny, it was banned in Norway" (Witch it was)

"Is this a horror movie?"
No, it is just historically accurate.

A very, very intelligent film. There's so many historical and political puns in here, often hidden under nonsense. A masterpiece!

Sue Jones-Davies, the actress who played Judith, later in 2008 became mayor of Aberystwyth, a town in Wales. The movie had never been shown in that town because of hed nude scene. But she herself sponsored a showing of the film

"Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" is the most requested song for funerals in the UK.

The crew of HMS Sheffield sang "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" whilst sitting in lifeboats after their ship was sunk in Falklands War. It was also sung at Graham Chapman's funeral.

All of the Pythons, with the exception of Terry Gilliam, went to either Cambridge University or Oxford University. Graham Chapman - who plays Brian - was actually a doctor (he was fully registered on the medical register).

We played "Always look on the bright side of life" at my dad's funeral 🙂 He loved Monty Python and it did make everyone smile.

“Blessed are the cheesemakers” ,,,,,one of the greatest lines ever written , so subtle and sets the whole  movie up . Epic ladies , biblical even 😂

Hella hit the nail on the head telling Katie the “Nothing makes sense in Monty Pythons”.  😂
It does, but in such a screwball way.   Great movie though, and a fun reaction as always.

John Cleese (tall Centurion giving the Latin Lesson) was a Latin tutor when he was younger.

There's too many moments in this film to pick a favourite so instead I'm going to say my favourite bit of this reaction is Hella saying " it's huge" as they appear from the sewers right in the middle of the mosaic and realising what she just said 😂😂😂. Chi is so proper it always makes me laugh to see her reaction to the naughty bits 😮😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤

Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life is by far one of the most popular songs chosen for funerals in Britain.

I grew up watching these movies, and I’m so happy that a new generation is enjoying them. Furthermore, Hella is just adorable!

This hilarious movie is one of the best social commentaries on religion ever written.

15:40   "And Pilates wifes bedroom is here."

"Did they have pilots back then?"

LOL!😂

The best thing about the "Romans Go Home" scene is that John Cleese was actually a Latin teacher, so he knew exactly what he was talking about!

They asked why the wise men took the gifts back, it's because they realised they had the wrong address.

Not only did Eric Idle perform most of the songs, he was also the composer for Monty Python, he even performed 'Always look on the bright side of life' in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London.

15:45 "they have pilots back then?" you unironically added a whole new level of irony to that line in true monty python fashion.... my mask is off to you ladies.

This movie was widely attacked by the Catholic church as well as the Church of England (and different Christian churches and their followers around the world, notably - though not surprisingly - in the U.S.A.) for being blasphemous. There was even a debate on TV where Monty Python had to defend the movie against the clergy. But, as they (Monty Python) rightly pointed out, the movie couldn't really be blasphemous since it wasn't about Jesus - it was about Brian. And Jesus is only in one scene at the beginning when he's preaching and the people at the back can't hear what he's saying.
It's a brilliant movie with so many layers of satire and criticism of both religion and politics. A true classic!
