My father’s family was from Kalamata, in Messenia - yes, home of the famous olives. My father actually grew up in Volos, during the Nazi occupation, which is probably why he didn’t tell me much about this part of Greece. I know a bit about the history, but didn’t realize there were so many beautiful, but amazingly different, places and types of scenery. That Northwestern area looks like Switzerland. Many Greeks, ancient and modern, chose/choose building sites in the northwestern part of a town or city, because they catch the coolest, most moist breezes. Most people don’t realize how very mountainous Greece is, and high the mountains are. We had a country house on Mt. Pelion, near Volos, which got a lot of snow every winter.

Within my life span of 82 years, a comprehensive academic history curriculum in Greece, will never overrate this significant historical video. It is a monumental production of revealing history in its origin, resurrecting the vigor, the passion, the culture and the love of this country by us Greeks.

My favorite memory of Greece is that I did my first backpacking trips there in the early eighties. Mainland, Crete, Rhodes, Santorini, overall four times.❤❤❤ Great memories!

My Wife and I have been visiting the Peloponnese for 30 years. Probably now too old to go again and it was great to see this wonderful video which showed all the places we have seen and enjoyed. Almost like being there again. Thank you.
