"why are the sun and moon moving?"

Connor...do you think our own celestial bodies just sit in place?

Him saying "I want to see the other moon that only shows up at night time" and the Quantum moon literally coming into frame was peak cinema.

This game is an entirely valid use of the phrase “Don’t look anything up, just play it”

1 Hour Connor: Happy all smiles
8 Hours in Connor: Focused and locked in
16 Hours in Connor: Looks like a freaking Fear & Hunger Character jfc

Only people who’ve played the game
understand the insane amount of luck Connor has stumbling into the right places at the right times.

Whoever edits these, I can feel your passion and appreciation  for this game. The small things like playing Solanum's piano when he first meets her, it's beautiful. Thank you.

The DLC adds a new layer of understanding the story of the game. 10/10 recommended

"And when the inhabitants of the new universe stumble across this strange metallic object with a big beady eye, and the symbols "SCOUT" etched onto its side, they will make one very intresting observation.

It is older than the universe itself."

Choosing dark bramble as your very first planet and actually landing on it are two things I've never seen before in a playthrough.

I actually cant fathom the fact that Connor not only nearly managed to brute force getting past the Giants Deep current, but then also literally launched himself (by accident mind you) into the solution to get into the core. This man is the luckiest man alive istg.

Im not a stream watcher, and these edited longplay videos are so addicting man. I fucking love them! Huge props to the editors as well

One thing I've always LOVED about the puzzles in Outer Wilds is that they aren't there just for the sake of being puzzles in your way, like almost every single puzzle game out there.
Think about it. So many games make a puzzle that's there just for you to solve them, but when you think about it for more than 5 seconds, you'd realize that, in-universe and lorewise, there's no reason why a person would build such a puzzle there in the first place, thus plenty of games (Myst games come to mind, and stuff like Realm of Illusions) tend to have puzzles that, albeit good and tough, are just that. Puzzles. Not an actually, well-thought out in-universe reason for why it's there.

But here? Everything is so "perfectly" thought out. Some puzzles are just puzzles because that's how the world is (getting under that island on Giant's Deep, or getting to the tower of Quantum Imaging on Giant's Deep, or traversing Brittle Hollow, or even figuring out how to get to Solanum, or entering Interloper, etc.), while some puzzles, like figuring out the Ash Twin Project, etc, none of those things feel like "someone put them there to thwart your progress", but they're just "there", and you're stumbling upon them with no knowledge of how they function, and just slowly learning.

THAT is one of the things that makes this game so good, and why it's such a good "non-puzzle" puzzle game.

I've also heard that people compare Tunic to Outer Wilds, that it's a game you should go in blindly, and that, if you like Outer Wilds, you'll like Tunic, so I'm looking forward to playing that as well, and I'll leave the recommendation here in case anyone else wants it!

Thanks for the 0:30 Warning. I have much respect for your approach. I bought the game but don't have much time with it, I will exit the video, and I hope to come back once I finish it; here is a like to the video in the meantime.

- discovers downwards tornadoes first try
- discovers quantum imaging a floor above where it tells you about it
- hits the sun station first try
- GETS THROUGH THE NORTHERN LAKEBED CAVE FIRST TRY AS THE SAND IS RISING

AND I'M ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH!

This is the single greatest and least aggravating playthrough of OW I've EVER SEEN. (And that's saying something)

Edit: AND THE JELLYFISH TRICK?!!!!

This is my favorite game of all time. I’m really glad he played it, but I cannot stress enough how you can’t play this game in one sitting. It is incredibly draining if you do that, and you’ll also lose a ton of time to process information you’re given and feel more stressed and likely have a harder time finding solutions to things in the game. Very glad Connor played it though, it might expose more people to this wonderful and beautiful game. If you haven’t played it and you’re reading this comment, stop watching the video and reading this comment and go play the game completely blind. You’ll be in for quite the ride.

Edit: Also when people say they wish they could erase their memory of something so they could go back and experience it again with the first time, Outer Wilds is literally that game. You can only experiment it once, and once you do, you will never be able to play it the same way EVER again. So again, if you have any interest in this game and don’t know what it is, go play it for yourself because you only get one first play through, meaning one genuine experience of learning the game’s secrets

No fucking way Connor accidentally found the right tornado with a scout, figured out the quantum lock by himself, bruteforced the black hole forge, found the lakebed shard by accident and figured the jellyfish by accident. Respect.

the DLC is quite literally a masterpiece on its own

The editing on the eye was fantastic, nothing less than what outer wilds deserves

Holy shit PLEASE play the dlc

If I may quote another youtuber, "IN MY OLD AGE, DEMENTIA ISN'T A CURSE,. NAY, IT IS A BLESSING. BECAUSE THAT MEANS I CAN PLAY OUTER WILDS ALL OVER AGAIN." -Bricky

I played this game during lockdown and was pretty depressed at the time. This game offered me two things I really needed: freedom and a new outlook.

When I played Outer Wilds, I was free to explore, free to shoot my ship off in a direction and see what's going on and what I discovered was actually meaningful and interesting and poignant.

It also changed my outlook. I was scared of things to come and outer wilds reminded me to take a breath, relax and accept some things as they are and fight like hell to change the things I can and make them better.

It will always be important to me. I hope the creators of this game know how meaningful and beautiful their game is and I hope it's legacy carries on with some of the greats.
