Hello everyone!

My name is Mrs Smuthy and in this video I show you how to get to floor 100 of Skull cavern so you can enjoy loads of iridium, complete Mr Qi’s quest, and, most importantly, have fun! This is done completely without cheats or using a thousand staircases. This means it is very attainable for anyone to try, no matter your experience in Stardew Valley.

This video is divided in two parts: Preparation for the dive (basically everything you need to do BEFORE you go to skull cavern) and tips for the actual mines (So, what to do there to make it easier to go as deep as possible). Here it is divided in chapters, for easier navigation:

In this video you will find help and tips for every part of doing Skull Cavern dives; from food to take, to what tools to bring, how to obtain bombs, etc. It will also show you how to navigate the stress of being in the mines, and how to actually survive. So you can make it as deep as possible with lots of iridium.

Iridium! Just wanted to say that this video is very encouraging for me, as I'm dreading dealing with the skull cavern! And I wanted to show support for a growing channel! I watch a ton of Stardew Valley videos lately, and I assumed this was from someone with tons of subs! I think my least prepared run was one with accidentally good luck. never planned to reach 100, just went for the monster slayer goals, and when I realized I was entering the 90s it suddenly got serious

I'm a big fan of the camping tent. If you bring 2 you can sleep right outside the night before, and then again at the last second once you leave the cavern.

If you can get the Statue of Perfection from Grandfather's grave, it produces 2-8 iridium ores per day. That's pretty much how I was able to upgrade my tools because Skull Cavern scared the snot outta me.
However, this video is very encouraging! Thank you for making it. :)

Iridium!
I hardly ever see this tip, but whenever I go to the desert in early to mid game, I pick up cactus fruit. They are great for health, and it’s free. Also foraged crystal fruit and dehydrated mushrooms and fruit are free and powerful.

Each time when I do my rushdown strategy in Skull Cavern, I'm well prepared for a deep dive to the point I can sleep in a tent just outside the cavern and check the TV at the entrance of the cave I placed to know for sure it's a lucky day for another clever run.

You get 2 crystalariums for free. Just put a jade in to each and you'll have about a hundred a year. Save all of your bombs and make sure never to sell stone. Twice a year you'll be able to go with about 80 stairs (50 by trading jade and 20 by using stone). Use the pickaxe and bombs on big floors, use stairs when it's a long snaking corridor. Always jump down holes.
The problem with SC is people waste resources by going down dozens of times. It's OK to go with just the pickaxe, weapon and hoe, but save the stairs and bombs for 2 big expeditions.

Toward the beginning of a game, winter year one, you can use winter seeds crafted from foraging for winter foragables. Make as many as you can find and when they grow, turn them into seeds again. Not only does that give you insane foraging xp, but once you can make them iridium quality, the crystal fruits give you 163hp and you can have hundreds by the end of the season. You can't plant much else, so might as well.

Checked out the video yesterday, decided to go for a run today. I should have brought the coffee for the boost. I got to floor 76 and walked away with a bunch of materials. Passed out at 2am. Thanks for the upload.

I also recommend Pale Broth for healing - it's a super easy recipe, and the algae can either be fished out in many places or dropped by monsters. I always use it, and I have the impression that no one really talks about it 😅

Iridium! You have a great voice for tutorials and a welcome laid-back style of delivery. Keep it up. I'm drowning in Iridium having ignored the Skull Cavern almost completely and getting the Statue Of Perfection by interacting with Grandpa's grave over 3 in game years. Maxed out my tools ages ago. It feels a bit like cheating but if people don't want to tackle the cavern it's an option.

Thanks a ton for this video! Most of the time I see things like "Get 200 staircases and full stacks of bombs." I think that might be good advice for later on but, I dont have close to the level of resources needed to do something like that at the moment. I also saw people saying things like "skip the first 100 levels." It made my runs feel kinda garbage when im just getting started. Thanks for making a more approachable guide.
