"Lemon" is not only Kenshi's biggest song, its arguably one of the biggest songs in Japanese history

apparently Kenshi Yonezu took vocal lessons for the first time in his life around KICKBACK and he learned how to make his voice more gritty and control his vocals (especially falsetto)

"JaneDoe" is a perfect match for the Chainsaw Man movie. When this song plays during the credits, tears naturally flow. While the waltz is playing, the rhythm is meant for the two of them to dance together, but they are never matched. They are polar opposites. Kenshi Yonezu is skilled at extracting and interpreting the original work brilliantly.

kenshi yonezu is literally perfect for chainsaw man, his voice sounds like a chainsaw and he's just as bizarre as the series itself.

also, FUN FACT: kick back is the first ever japanese song to win a platinum record!

米津さんは「こいつはこういうのが得意なんだな」と言われるのが嫌で、一つのジャンルに縛られない曲作りをしていて、しかもそのどれもが素晴らしい作品になってるのがすごいところだと思ってる

we all know why he paused at 17:12 xD

Hikaru Utada is legend in Japan,
She was singing from 90’s to now still.

"Lemon" is a song written for his grandfather.

"Kick Back" is the anime opening for the first season of Chainsaw Man.
"Iris Out" and "Jane Doe" are tracks from Chainsaw Man movie: Reze Arc.

You should definitely check out the endings of the first season of Chainsaw man, they have a unique ending for each episode, a total of 12. That should introduce you to some of the biggest artists in Japan.

Reminder that Kenshi made Iris Out almost entirely by himself, here's what the description says:

Lyricist, Composer, Associated Performer, Vocal, Producer, Programmer, Arranger: Kenshi Yonezu

Mixing Engineer, Recording Engineer: Masahito Komori

Mastering Engineer: Randy Merrill

Kenshi also drew the cover for the song

It's really cool and admirable that he writes, produces, and sings all of his music.

You will love Kenshi‘s “Sprit of Sea“. It's slow melody and his voice is insane.

People finding out japanese artists and music never fails to warm my heart 😅 when I say I like japanese music people areund me are so confused. Then I introduce stuff and they are hooked.
There's just lovely lyricism, vibes and melody.
The new release 1991 is so heart warming considering he is also born in 1991

Kenshi Yonezu is one of the singers that has a unique voice that we can immediately recognize when we hear it. It's crazy because from the interview just recently he said he always hated his voice back then at the beginning of his career but gladly it started growing up until now he realizes that his unique voices are such a blessing for him.
