"In sickness and in health" goes out the window when one becomes a monster who verbally and emotionally abuses the children. LEAVE the marriage!!!

I don’t understand how the wife wasn’t under the treatment of a psychiatrist from the beginning! And when she began abusing the children the husband should have insisted that she get psychiatric treatment or at the very least family therapy.

I feel so bad for the child- it’s hard for me to imagine a father allowing his kids to be outright abused by their own mother for so long.

Whats really hard is knowing that "old wife" would absolutely want him to protect her kids from "new wife" 😢 I would hope my husband would do the same if I ever lost my mind like that. It almost sounds like early dementia 😮😢

I wished OP had put cameras in the house.  The police will ask the children questions.

Those poor kids and OP, while I feel for the wife for having health issues, but man, those kids don’t deserve that and neither does OP 😭

It sounds like the beginning of dementia. All of the inflammation and the seizures the doctors should have been way more involved. Her outbursts and anger should have been closely monitored. I feel for all of them. I hope he updates one day.

I had a brain tumor, I then had eleven strokes.  I went completely blind for 5months.  I lost all memory from before the surgery, I remembered my husband and son but not my parents or childhood, don’t even remember giving birth…. I still have short term memory problems, I can’t drive because of hallucinations (it looks like poles are falling on the car, I also have three auditory hallucinations (screaming, growling and a child crying for mommy).  But after having a brain tumor removed I just have memory problems, arthritis and I’m blessed.
OPs wife has brain damage from the strokes….awful.

She doesnt remember having her children, so she lost the love a mother feels for their children. She is strict & disciplining her children as if they are someone elses children. She also seems to no longer love her husband as much.

I feel for OP’s wife when it comes to what happened to her. The illness wasn’t her fault or her choice. Nor was the amnesia it caused.

However, the very first time she hurt the kids, OP should have put their safety first and had his wife moved out of the house and in with a trustworthy family member or friend who she knew. That or move her to a psychiatric facility for in patient treatment.  It should never have gone as far as it did.

The dad is terrible for not protecting his children!!!

He needs to leave with his kids because she is clearly too toxic to be around and it is not healthy for any of them to be around her. She needs help.

Should have hidden cameras long ago because cops and courts almost always believe mom.

I don't care how sick the other person is when affects the children that much it's time to make a serious change the children should always come first

This is making me more furious with every line. The wife and mother he had does not exist anymore. He should have split from her a year earlier. It's completely about the safety and mental health of the kids especially. Even though he tried to stay, this is entirely different. For the better good, she has to go. It's a sad and bad situation, but it's what is for the best. There's no helping her, because she just escalates. For everyone else's sake, I hope he left and gets help. Always tell the truth, regardless.

so let me get this straight....his wife is ABUSING his son. He doesn't want to intervene because then she would take it out on him...so he throws son under the bus. seems that abuse happened for two years before he got his kids out
