Look up “poor man’s power steering” on YouTube that is a really cool upgrade after a repair like that.

Just bought  two adjustable after market draglinks on Amazon. About $45

Seen a guy did that and it stripped out and ruined the bar and the problem is actually the axle is not strong enough

Maybe slotting the steering knuckle on one side would be easier. I did. Rat tail file after drilling.  Tighten the drag link nut till it screams. Steering wheel is easily reset after unbolting the nut on top of the steering wheel.

The steering wheel just pops off. You can just re-center it with no effect on steering radius .

Curious if turning radius was tighter being tow out?
