About 50 years ago, I learned the lesson of the override clutch when the bush hog pushed me through a fence. I could not stop it!   Yes, put on that clutch!

Omg such an excellent video and as a widow of a spouse who never taught me how to do this YOU ARE APPRECIATED MORE THAN  YOU CAN IMAGINE.   THANK YOU.

One thing that is worth mentioning is when you're lifting the three point, is to NOT LIFT TO HIGH where the center of your pto shaft will hit the front edge of your mower. Setting the lift control lever stops will keep this from happening, fyi.

We're beginning to look at tractors for some new land and really love your teaching style and showing how to hook up the PTO step by step. Keep up the great content.

I just got the Pat’s easy hitch and a PTO Link adapter.  It’s a game changer for me since I’m constantly swapping implements.  I highly recommend them as a pair.

Struggling with aligning the splines is an ordeal you’re right it gets really frustrating at times , good video lot of good examples

I set my bush hog on 4" blocks from the get go. Doesn't sit on ground and already elevated 😁

I have a quick connect -- it works great, but sometimes I have a devil of a time getting the quick connect plate off/on the pto of the implements.  I feel like the victory condition would be having one plate for every attachment and just never worry about it ever again, but boy that would be expensive!

One thing I've learned recently -- if you try to get a pto shaft on, but it just doesn't seem like it's going on, even if you have the splines mated -- if it feels like you just can't get the lock to lock on, try taking the spline back out of the socket and turn to another slot.  Sometimes it slides right in on one slot, and another it just gets caught.  

I made the mistake of forcing it the other day and I had to grind off the u joint to get the plate back off.  Live and learn!

To make it easier to slide the shaft on instead of holding its weight I discovered using a chain or rope to suspend the shaft level with PTO and then slide it on is much easier. Thanks for your tips

This was super helpful!  Thank you!!!  If the PTO gets stuck on the tractor,  use a ratchet strap around a tree and ratchet off the PTO.

Good idea that I heard you say.  I hadn't considered turning the tractor off to hook up the shaft.  Mine has a switch that somehow electrically turns the pto on.  Glad that I watched this video.
