My father died when I was 3 years old leaving my mother a young widow with three little girls including a newborn baby. Nobody suggested that my mother was incapable of caring for us. Our family rallied around my mother and supported her. This family is horrible. They were trying to take the baby away because the sil felt that she was entitled to take OP's baby. Bethany needs to go back to therapy until she gets it into her head that she is not entitled to take OP's baby just because she can't have a baby of her own!
This story shows that family are the people who step up for you, not just people you are related to by blood. The main character has a chosen family and community of people who supported and stood by her in ways Gloria and Bethany never could.
there should be protection against/for mothers who are grieving. Also Bethany keeps going on about herself, her struggles, and more. How selfish is she, like ppl need to start using reverse arguments more. Bethany doesn't deserve to be a mother.
The other issue with grandparents rights is, if a relationship is formed with the grand child as she gets older. If that is not established, then it's laughable right out of court with denial from a judge.
