Just built this kit a few days ago and it's a very great kit!
I got it as my first kit because I saw that it came with the nice humbrol acrylics
It actually turned out pretty decent for my first, but the landing gear....
Lol

not one of my favorite ww2 warbirds but you built it very  good, thumbs up from me

Good start my friend,  I also found that undercarriage  a bit of a bugger, but when made, it sure is sturdy. It's all plain sailing now.

Thankfully found your vids mid-build of this terrific kit. Yes, that pesky C10 is the one weakness in this kit.  Its surprising a "keystone" part like C10 is so poorly made.  The styrene-softening qualities of TET helped "mush" C10 into the notch in bulkhead A7.  Kudos to the strength of those spindly landing gear struts on A12.  They took more stress than they should have clipping (and reclipping) them to A17.

The painted landing gear chains are a nice touch.

The color scheme for both versions of my kit (A02070) has the upper surface a slate grey color (125) and the bottom surfaces a light grey (129) - like the box art of this video.  I found Tamiya XF-82 and XF-83, respectively, to be close matches.

You are helping avoid pitfalls and making this an even more enjoyable kit.  Thanks for the guidance.

That landing gear assembly will either make or break a modeller. Well done on presenting this build to your usual high quality. It's off to a good start. I must admit that I am 1/48 scale fan normally, but am very impressed with how far moulding quality has come on in leaps and bounds in 1/72 scale kits.

Looks like a great kit, looking forward to the next part...

First class video, on to part two.

been waiting for this thanks

Very good video, good work mate!

👏👏👏

agh YES :D Very wild :>

The complicated gear assembly on the Wildcat was always going to be a bit tricky but it does look fantastic.

Absolutely love your style - great delivery!   Particularly like the way you get excited about the kit at certain parts in the film.
There is a section around about 16.58 where you are looking for H85, and it's there in front of us - we can see it on the chart while you are still wondering aloud about what color 85 is?!!!  It's really funny - I was shouting at the screen 'It's there!!!  It's right there!!!'  Great persistence shown with that undercarriage, and some top tips once you've cracked how to do it.  Looking forward to p2 - All power to you!

freue mich schon wenn du sie lackierst, auf jedenfall toll gemacht bis jetzt:-D

Suggestion/Idea: you should do a shot section talking about the histore of the vehicle/aircraft. That would be nice.

Looking good, and can't wait for the next video :) I'm taking a break from the Revell 1/72 Lancaster for a while after I managed to screw it over, and am nearly finished with a P 40B build, yay :")

Black is correct for the lower part of the Wildcat's landing gear.  The small half cylinder on the floor behind the pilot's seat should be yellow.

No need to worry about finding the right paints. They are not on the instructions but they are listed on the side of the cardboard pack

Excellent... quite tempted to get this.. or I was, until I saw the struggle with the landing gear at the end.. perhaps I'll just stick to my Academy kit, that I have somewhere in my stash.. :) Looking forward to Pt.2.. :)

My uncle bavid was on the enterpires he went in to boot camp dec-7-41
