A sister still grieving for her dead child, taking op's kid and brainwashing him into thinking that she (the sister/aunt) is his real momw while op is in the hospital isn't a misunderstanding lol or an innoccent one  either. it's the sign of a woman who needs to go to therapy for her grief.

I wouldnt be surprised if the sister mixed some kind of coagulation drug into her drinks when she would come over in hopes that giving a healthy woman medicine meant for people with thin blood would kill her sister and allow her to take her sisters son, seeing as her search history was quite detailed in searching about how her sisters death would allow her to take her son. All this before she even collapsed

Therapist here (not currently practicing).  Someone with that degree of delusional thinking about something she is so heavily invested in, emotionally, is not going to make the kind of progress that motivates her to apologize in three or four months.

I don't know what the sister's therapist was thinking to even consider any kind of contact between her client and a five-year-old in that situation.  There is no way any half-decent therapist would think that was safe for the child.  It’s also a potential risk for strengthening the delusional thinking.

Unless the sister drops the attempt to gain custody, an apology letter and two dollars will get you a candy bar, and a therapist won't suggest it.

As a grandmother who has seen a lot of life, this story breaks my heart into pieces. How can a sister turn a medical tragedy into a chance to steal a child? The grief over losing her own baby is devastating, but using that to justify rewriting reality and confusing a poor five-year-old boy is just unacceptable.
