Great patina and thanks for useful tips, for your kids sake make a workbench to save your legs ,  you’ll free up wait times in the ER which doesn’t seem to be close by,lol.I use tack cloth to remove dust since it can cause the varnish to blister. I am off to refinsh half a dozen old paddles to add to my scuffed up cabin wall display.

I have hand made dozens of paddles and there is nothing wrong doing what you have there, Good job. I maybe would have reattached the sticker

Perfectly good now!

Great patina!

Enjoyed the discussion and watching this restore project. 👍

I just bought a couple of old paddles for five bucks each. Thanks for the tips! I'm looking forward to restoring them!

👍👍

That’s a good painter’s tip about adding the turpentine.  I was wondering why some painters cut the linseed oil with paint thinners.

Around 1726 Montesquieu wrote "Le mieux est le mortel ennemi du bien" ('The best is the mortal enemy of the good'). I like Your channel - keep up the good work!
