That green paint is very opaque. One coat and you can't see the red underneath. No primer or anything.

That is not a bad job! But i would have used the weave cloth first, then the fiber matting. Worked fiber patching gas pipeline at a steel plant for a few years. That thin weave cloth actually adds a fair bit of strength. But all good. Still wouldn't be disappointed if i had bought it with this patch.

I need to fill gouges on the bottom of my canoe. I also want to reinforce the entire bottom before I paint it. What supplies would you recommend to do the entire bottom of my canoe?

Let me ask a probably dumb question… My 17’ Pelican canoe is made out of plastic (HDPE) and have several weak spots and 2 cracks from being dragged by the previous owner… is it possible to reinforce the hull by using resin and fiberglass after a good sanding and some plastic welds to the cracks?

Hey I just hit a 17ft Mohawk canoe. The fiberglass on the interior is loose and some strands are sticking out and it’s a furry appearance. My kids will be in this boat and I don’t want them getting itchy from the fibers. How do I fix this? Would I just sand the entire bottom with like 80 grit paper and then paint on epoxy?
