Devs not paying attention to detail: adds MW M3 into later games.

Also Devs: accidently creates a mystery conspiracy of is it the real or a replica, only to come to fruition when Pants does a full in-depth video many years later.
Bravo!

Inspector Pants.

I'm the one who told you about the Supra being a placeholder of the M3 in Carbon.

Apparently they couldn't initially keep the M3 license for Carbon so they started with the Supra as a placeholder while they tried to get it back the license, it seems that because of that Black Box ran out of time to do all the flashback cinematics and could only redo the intro parts with Cross.

12:37 feels like we were living in the razors edge with some of these collections. like a need for speed. its almost like were most wanted. unbound even.

I'm old enough to remember when fans somehow chronologically linked the protagonist from UG, UG2, Most Wanted, and Carbon as being the same guy, with Carbon's flashbacks being the very beginning, then escaping to UG and UG 2 before heading to Rockport and finally back to Carbon.

Then it was confirmed these games were not linked outside MW and Carbon.

This series has never made sense.

Makes sense that the M3's original owner was Darius. He's probably the only person with the money and the influence to get a race-spec car onto the street racing scene.

Imagine next NFS you play as razor, making the BMW the most wanted car across the city and you actually the villain

I’m convinced BMW owes NFS some good money the way it made the M3 WAY MORE desirable than it was

For me it's obvious. The Replica M3 was built close to the events that happened in Fairhaven, probably because of the myth of the Original Blacklist #1(lost to time and left to rot), and then the replica (giving honour to its legacy) was chased down by the cops, changing its owner with time. The Original one still being locked up, until Razor managed to get out of jail, and got his hands on the "Replica", but he saw the differences on it, and went to look back for the "original" one, giving the "Replica" as a gift/prize to the racer who managed to pass all of his challenges.

Both are the Most Wanted M3 GTR, hence why someone might want both, "The Blacklist Legend" and "The Mysterious Foreigner".

I mean it's the same with Eddie's car and Rachel's in Unbound, both are replicas, the vinyls and wheels (Rachel's uses Works instead of Racing Heart and Eddie uses the BBS LM instead of the BBS RX2) give that away, plus Eddie changed his Skyline to more modern Aesthetics as time went on as seen in NFS 2015...

From what I've heard (and don't quote me on this) the Player's crew was supposed to fix the M3 throughout the progression of the story and then when you would race Darius, you would do so in the M3, hence the fact that some crew members are labeled as a "mechanic".

I would also think that those are all Replicas. I would assume that the Blacklist is very notorious throughout the USA, which would explain why the cops are driving around in Corvettes in Rockport in the year 2005 (MW). They need them to stay competitive to catch the Blacklist.  Now imagine you are in the Street racing scene in the US and you hear a M3 GTR came, dismantled the Blacklist in a short time, got every cop in Rockport on their back, jumped an UNFINISHED BRIDGE and disappeared. There are bound to be Replicas around. The NFS: No Limits line: "This M3 is a symbol of street racing across the nation" would suggest this too.

I nearly went a day without seeing this car.

Sit down 😂😂 0:37

Wait, let me get the timeline straight.

"Real" M3 GTR:
Most Wanted
Carbon
Carried off on a truck in Heat
Unbound (Lockdown)

"Replica" M3 GTR (V8 engine, stripped down interior):
Heat (Mercer's getaway car, taken by Heat player)
Unbound (High Heat Delivery)

"Replica" M3 (I6 engine, normal interior):
Basically every other game where the car appears (?)

Do I understand it correctly?

As for difference between Replica M3 GTR and Replica M3, one's actually an M3 GTR, the other's normal M3 with GTR body kit. I don't want to think too hard on how two track cars find their ways to the streets.

10:39 on need for speed heat, corrupt police repairs impounded cars and  import them. But in carbon, it got impounded, so my theory is the corrupt cops got their hands on them, knowing someone would pay top dollar for the bmw m3 gtr with a reputation of beating the blacklist.

3:56 fans of NFS unbound: say that again

I never thought that I'd get a headache from a cars backstory

BMW has a real world built nfs bmw m3 gtr at their headquarters

"Everyone 2:12" here might agree that the lockdown M3 GTR has to be the Post-Carbon version of it
