Man Magnus is such a nightmare opponent.
If he fools around and you troll him back he will inevitably beat you and leave you with the feeling that you were manipulated into doing dumb moves.
If you take him seriously and win, you know he wasnt taking you seriously and you didnt beat Magnus at 100%, so it doesnt feel as good.
If you take him seriously and lose you get the double humiliation of tryharding and losing to a troll.

He is not inventing new openings. He is giving odds. In the old days chess masters gave odds by removing one of their pieces at the start of the game. These days the fashion is to give odds by making some bad opening moves.
