As kids we were too young to understand these. But now as an adult it's shocking.

Heya KeeKay, remember how SpongeBob got stuck (Thanks to Patrick) and crashed out on him. But instead of the fishes lashing out on Patrick, they instead lash out on damn SpongeBob

As Peter Griffin once said: "That's some good ol' family fashioned racism"

Speaking off you didn't even mentioned the birds from Dumbo.

That's what the mindset was back then. It shouldn't be a surprise that this happens.

There's one looney tunes short you missed.
"All this and rabbit stew" was a part of the "censored 11" list of cartoons that were ALL racist cartoons from the 30s to 40s. The short literally has a black hunter that can't speak, walk, run, or do ANYTHING normal. AND he has a gambling addiction. It's basically the classic elmer vs bugs formula but with the time period, they JUST HAD to make it racist.

The Censored 11 as a whole

TIL Duck Hitler was a thing 💀

Edit: I know it's not an old-school cartoon but Uncle Ruckus not being mentioned in a video about racism in cartoons feels so wrong 😂

I’m a black guy and I don’t even like watermelon, and I’ve drank grape soda like less than 5 times in my life😭
2:04 damn dude I was about to say no😂
4:23 ok I didn’t expect that😶
6:33 ok nah that legitimately pissed me off
(Also Princess and The Frog is my favorite Disney Princess movie as a black guy from New Orleans)
Lesson: Don’t be racist

“Mickey! You a cartoon mouse! What the FRICK do you know about JESUS!?!”

@lemon5K 5 months ago

Japan got that because older mangaka grew up watching imports of those racist cartoons without knowing that it was racist or were stereotypical

Osamu Tezuka did apologies and would later stop drawing us that way in his later works

Idk about other mangaka like Toriyama tho

"These distorted portrayals were not accidental; they were calculated tools used to marginalize and dehumanize entire groups of people through visual propaganda."
