“God Gave Rock n Roll To You” is a cover song originally done by Argent. Kiss played a rocker version of it, but used the same structure.  Sont blame Kiss for that.

“Hear “n’ Aid  - We’re Stars had cheesy lyrics … but that song ROCKED!!!!!  I had bought the 45 when it was released back in the spring of 1986 and the lyrics were on the back side of the picture sleeve.

I had the Come Out and Play VHS video and when they (Twisted Sister) broke out "Leader of the Pack" I was like wtf🤨 I think that was the beginning of the end for Twisted Sister after that it was bad real bad😔

(Honorable Mention) Dangerous Toys-Sport'n A Woody...This would have been in my top 5 had you not correctly included it in yours so I went with 5 fresh takes. There's a plethora of cringe out there and finding common ground for all the reasons you mentioned is quite a feat in and of itself. I worked at a record store and played this album one day and my manager literally fell over laughing in tears at the lyrics to this one. After that, I always skipped this song on what was otherwise a damn fine record.

5. Alice Cooper-Only My Heart Talkin'...so in 1989 when Alice came back with a modern sound on Trash, the album still really rocked and gave Cooper more commercial success then he'd had since Welcome To My Nightmare over a decade before. Cooper navigated the commercial rock sound greatly and I really liked the album but this modern commercial ballad from it does not belong with this artist. Written by the pop hitmaker Bruce Roberts and featuring background wailing by Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, it would have sounded perfect on an Aerosmith album of that era but hearing our beloved madman maniac Alice Cooper trying to sound like he's channeling heartbreak over a lost love is an exercise in futility.

4. KISS-Let's Put The X In Sex...KISS is one of my favorite bands but any cringe list must have one of their songs and this is it for me. The lyrics are the height of embarrassing ridiculousness (love's like a muscle and you make me wanna flex, I knew her body but I couldn't see her face, then I saw those lace black panties and I knew that it was you) but to match those terrible words with the horn section reeks of late 80's over-production. The fact that Desmond Child had to give Paul Stanley a hand in writing this turkey tops it off. Maybe KISS' worst song ever and that's saying something.

3. Steelheart-Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)...straight from the 90's cheese factory is this gooping with sugar ballad by Miljenko Matjevic and his band Steelheart. Unlike most ballads that detail the pain of NOT having somebody, this dude uses eight octaves of ear-splitting shrieking to ruminate on a chick he already possesses and apparently worships. You almost wish she would dump him to compare how THAT ballad might sound against this one. The Angel Eyes nickname is an insult to Clint Eastwood and the cavernous closing scream sounds like a warning siren but it's too late...you've already heard the song.

2. Poison-Something To Believe In...late to the party on the evils of televangelism, late to the party on Vietnam Veterans, but it's never too late to show the world you actually have a heart and a brain when you're not busy stuffing an extra sock down the front of your spandex pants to show the ladies and chugging a six pack of Miller Lite. The intro piano ditty makes you think you're about to hear a Muppet song, the lonesome wail of the harmonica before the verse is laughable, and the black church choir singing backup assures the world that Poison is down with civil rights even if it still sounds as misplaced here in 1990 as it did 6 years before on Foreigner's I Want To Know What Love Is.

1. Jackyl-The Lumberjack Song...I personally think it's the worst single in the history of recorded music, in any genre. The band was awful to begin with but apart from that, it uses one of the most famous blues riffs ever to deliver lines of female conquest that a real lumberjack could have written better (I'm gonna cut you down to size, you're the one that gets my prize, I surely be coppin' a rise). One listen and you can tell this band is from the backwoods of the southeastern United States. Screaming singer Jesse James Dupree has maybe the most annoying voice ever. And of course, it features a chainsaw solo (also expertly played by Dupree who really missed his true calling). Despite miraculously hitting the top 10 in the Netherlands, this truly terrible song proves once and for all that when it comes to lumberjack songs, if it isn't by Monty Python it's going to legendarily suck.

Love this channel, I have been binge watching videos every chance I get.
