Hey all! I hope you enjoy this return to the "Weapons Subcategories" series. I do wanna apologize in case there's any visual variance between the clips shown in this video (things like HUD, graphics options, bitrate, resolution, etc). A lot of the footage in this video is over a year old, and the whole thing is a mixture of clips that were recorded across two or three separate rigs. I hope y'all enjoy this either way!

EDIT: I was wrong about the Stock Shotgun being able to one-tap Big Earner Spies! I got its damage mixed up with the Panic Attack's. This is the only mistake in this video. I apologize.

A lot of what you said about the babyface is very true, it is a constant high and low although usually its high if your playing right and it is definitely not the best scout weapon. However i wanted to bring up a fun thing with the baby face blaster that with enough experience makes it even more fun and actually way better than it seems: mind games. Playing with the enemy when your going through the map one way just to turn around and come out of a different hallway than they thought is very easy to do with the babyface because of its speed. A great example comes to mind on the map Hightower: on the long hallway behind the cart towers, say someone was just fighting you in the area where the cart starts and you run off into the stairs. Now there are two options on where you could come from: either back down the stairs after a moment or from up top by the cart towers, and if you have full boost you could even get away with going through the middle tower with the health packs to come up behind them.
While yes you can really do this as any class i feel the speed of the babyface makes this a lot easier because you come back so much quicker that the enemy doesnt really have time to think about it, and usually the enemy will know where your coming from based on how long you are taking where the babyface can let you take the longer paths so much quicker, or go halfway to one and turn back around to a closer one.

8:56 By technicality, a Shotgun Blast cannot kill you at full with the Big Earner - but the threshold is a lot more threatening than normal.
For reference - the max a Shotgun can deal is 90 Damage. However, the Panic Attack does cross the threshold with 8 Damage to spare.

Ever since I've started using the Overdose in MVM, I've found a new appreciation for speed boosting weapons.
Before I didn't think much of them but now? It's as if every class was a revved up Brass Beast Heavy if I don't use a speed boosting item /j

I mean hey, even for Trolldier the DA can get you a sped boost before a rocket jump and lets you hit enemies a mile away from where you land. Also it random crits every five seconds so it can still work

Big Earner is like Kunai but actually does what it's supposed to, giving spy the escape he needs, which he may choose to use for chainstabbing if he wants, but without punishing the enemy team for having newbies.

The whip having more range is probably for making it easier to hit teammates. You have to remember that a few years back was only when they fixed teammate hit detection (I think it wasn't lag compensated before - you'd have to hit where someone was server-side and not where they were visibly on your client, so you'd have to swing way in front of a teammate actively walking forward for example), so when it was introduced they likely gave it that with the intent of making it work better, expecting the damage penalty to more than negate the combat effectiveness that offered...

Baby face blaster is underrated.

Half of the time you can just blast a shot in the side of a heavy and just run away behind the corner. The speed boost is honestly insane.

The hot hand:
Gain 1 second of boost on hitting an enemy
-20% damage
You have to aim your shot twice in quick succession.

Other speed items
Conch: while people use the thing very selfishly, I think it's more of a win more item. The cases in which you'll want your entire team going faster is when you're pushing advantage, and while the team wide lifesteal is nice it doesn't make or break fights the way other banners do and puts your team in more danger compared two mad milk.
Overdose: as with all medic primaries and melees, they have two be considered as if the crossbow and saw didn't exist. In that case, it's a perfectly solid sidegrade two stock, and does even better at the thing of running away and firing at your enemies. The only issue is that you can't exactly use the thing tactically four getting around the map since uber needs the teammates you'll be outrunning
Eyelander: I don't think there's anything that hasn't already been covered, I just think they need a better indication that demoman's eye on his head count, and same goes with shields and charge
Hot hand: fun weapons are fine but I genuinely cannot understand what it's trying two do so I don't even know how two approach its issues

one of the most fun weapon loadouts i have for scout is what i like to call "the mosquito" loadout. baby face + flying guillotine + wrap assassin. the bleed damage from the wrap assassin ornament and guillotine actually counts towards the meter for the baby face, meaning its really easy for me to refill my meter even after i take damage, plus bleed damage can stack, so baby face speed boost meter can refill faster as well as when i land my shots. trust me, that load out is a lot more fun than it sounds, give it a shot if you havent already

Glad to see you come around on the Baby Face's Blaster Opal.  I've been a fan of it for a while now and while it certainly isn't a perfect weapon, the amount of fun I have when using it makes it an all time favorite for me.
