The YER is basically making you act LIKE AN ACTUAL SPY instead of running towards people and trickstabbing them with a Kunai

My favorite YER moment was when i was playing with a bunch of freinds, i was using the yer and got a ten kill streak, and i hear from the other room "How?? theres no kills in the... OH" and the terror in the OH was just so good

0:10 I turned this video on and immediately went to doing something else, and my kinda not really Japanese speaking self was fought SO INCREDIBLY OFF GAURD hearing “please give me your skin” right off the bat.

10:15 that heavy was absolutely not thinking about the blue soldier that is being healed by a red medic Right Infront of him

“It makes complete sense for that class to be standing there, because they literally just were” (3:18) is a FIRE summarization of this knife’s coolest upside

I have a love hate relationship with the YER. Half the time I get lots of kills, but the other half I somehow get discovered immediately, even without being telegraphed.

Another fun bonus of the YER is that it solves the clone problem because the player you're disgusted as, and killed, is waiting to respawn.

By the time they get back, you're most likely disguised as someone else.

in games i really like the class or type of player that just silently gets on with things and nobody has any idea what they are doing, until the round ends and they show up at the top of the leaderboard

I imagine it can be funny to start a match with the stock knife or the Spycicle to condition the enemy team, only to pull out the YER at random points.

@PoorDesign 1 year ago

there's a hidden downside where if someone knows you're using the YER, they have a 100% increase of telling their team you're disguised as their class when you backstab them

1:41 is he watching grandpa found the car keys

I disguised as a friendly hoovy once, having told my heavy who was actually playing the game that I was going to do so. I go out and act, get a backstab. The heavy in question acts friendly and goes into their backline unchallenged, while I went for the sentry nest. We wiped out their entire team, just the two of us. I got called a few slurs, but it was absolutely worth it

7:57 when the yer was introduced the special backstab animations still played 100% of the time instead of only 25%, keeping the body static until it fades out, it was changed to be 25% a few months later, inadvertantly nerfing the yer

It’s probably been said on this channel and other spy channels, Spy thrives on enemy teams when they lack communication. I feel like the YER multiplies that by 1000%, if no one is communicating that they got killed by the YER, spy can go on a massive tear. It’s both haunting and honestly awesome to see a spy just clear through a chain of people whether you witness it or you are apart of the chain

I love the YER, its entire existence is to create that "where did my team go?" moment

5:26 Sentry: Father! Watch out a- oh... nevermind he's gone. :)

But fail/miss stabs are WAY more punishing as the cloak drain rate makes it more difficult to escape as well as changing to another disguise will use up your entire cloak, again not an upgrade from stock but rewards you for staying hidden and punishes you more for whiffing.

I've made it a habit to train myself to hear specific signs of a YER kill

1. Faint sound of stab
2. Occasional ragdoll sound
3. Teammate suddenly walks or looks around funny.
