In this video I’m discussing the reality of doing mini twists on fine natural hair and how you can improve the appearance of them from how to twist to how to add some volume to them so the scalp isn’t so apparent.

Along with the mini twist tips, I’m sharing the hair products I use to keep my natural hair from tangling while in the twists, keeping them moisturized. Lastly, I share the products I used to twist and the technique for twisting that adds longevity to the twists so they last longer.

My twists look plump on the first day, but as the days go by and I add moisture, the twists start to look skinnier and skinnier. I have fine hair with low density in the front. I totally agree with you that spraying just water on them helps plump them up.

Your twists look so healthy and plump! Thanks for sharing your tips! I used to do a total 60-70 twists on my hair. As my hair grew out, I started reducing the number of twists because I found that it was taking too long AND I loss less hair with larger sections. Now, I do about 25 ( no more than 30)twists total. I always wash and deep condition with the twists in, spray a light leave in and light protein solution on my hair , let air dry then retwist using a butter. This process has resulted in much less hair being lost to shedding and breakage. I also braid at the root then twist.

Your hair looks beautiful! I’ve been wearing my hair like this for about 4 yrs and I always get soooo many compliments. I love it! Right now I have some in that I twisted on air dried hair with the Doux Cream which gave me really elongated twists. But I usually use The Doux Mousse and that is theeeeee most amazing thick rich creamy mousse ever! I get these products at Marshall’s at a great discount. Just sharing that for any watchers who may want to try! But anyway, your hair doesn’t look fine to me. It looks pretty dense! I love it! Very pretty.

My hair is the same. Fine strands, medium density….I wash my hair, put in my leave in and oil, let my detangled hair air dry then do about 4 braid passes transitioned into a 2 strand twist. Blow dried hair yields a super scalpy, sparse do for me. Once my twists are done, I slather on whatever hair cream I’m using. I’ve just gotten to the point where I’m comfortable rocking my twists and I plan to redo them once a month to take me into the spring.

I am so excited I just found you!! I am just now getting ready to start my healthy hair journey again. I am a fine natural. I went natural in 2020. I did the big chop 8/2020. It grew back wonderfully with a beautiful curl pattern. I made the mistake of going to a salon to save time of doing it myself and things went downhill. I feel like I'm staring all over. I need help with products. What would you do first to start over?

Thank you for your advice regarding the hair oil (Kink care)and the conditioner by Omnia naturals... One more question I have before I make my purchase, What are your thoughts on the scalp stimulator vs. the hair oil by Omnira please?😊
