The Gotrek and Felix books are goated, and a fantastic way to get into Warhammer fantasy imo.
They do a fantastic job at introducing you to the world and lore.
Also, Thanquol a main antagonist of the series, so there's that.

Wan wan!! The thing about warpstone is that it is literally raw chaos energy solidified into a mineral. It's every unstable and radioactive compound put together in crystalized form and even it this solid state it can be extremely dangerous for anybody who is exposed or comes into contact with it. Many of these effects involve mutations, afflictions, etc.

Unless you're a skaven that is XD It's not like they are "immune" to the stuff but they are so resistant against it that almost everything in their society rolls around warpstone. It's a form of currency, a source of energy and for Grey Seers, given how wizards work in Warhammer fantasy, are empowered by consuming it. Thanquol is already powerful in his own right and if he consumes warpstone (in any of its... uh... "recreative" forms) the power boost he'll get is exponential.

Wan Wan for the Wan God!

Welcome back to the grimdark fantasy side of Warhammer!

To clear up a few characters that were mentioned:

Gotrek Gurnisson and Felix Jaeger are the main characters of the "Gotrek and Felix" series of books (fancy that!).  Snorri Nosebiter and Malakai Makaisson are minor characters in those series.  They all get a deeper introduction in PancreasNoWork's video about the duo.  Also, Malakai Makaisson is a playable legendary lord in the Total War: Warhammer series.

Lord Skrolk, Throt the Unclean, Deathmaster Snikch, Ikit Claw, and Queek Headtaker are all powerful Skaven characters from clans Pestilens, Moulder, Eshin, Skyre and Mors respectively.  They aren't the leaders of their clans (more like legendary generals instead of kings), but you can play as them in Total War: Warhammer 2 & 3.

Skarbrand is a Greater Daemon of Khorne.  Skarbrand made the mistake of trying to usurp Khorne by stabbing the Lord of Skulls in the back (though in fairness, Skarbrand was probably tricked by Tzeench).  In return, Khorne broke Skarbrand's wings and exiled him to forever collect skulls for Khorne's skull throne.  And again, Skarbrand is a playable legendary lord in Total War: Warhammer 3.

Skarbrand also hates being summoned by wizards; when Skarbrand is first summoned by Thanquol, he is quoted as saying: "Vecteek couldn’t come. So I came instead. You have called and I have answered. You sought the Harbinger of Doom. I am he, little sorcerer. I am your Doom. I am Skarbrand. I am your death..."

Which is why it's so funny that Skarbrand basically gives Thanquol the thumbs up and says "Call me" when he gets sent back to the abyss.

Also, yes, Thanquol is now playable as a new legendary lord for Total War: Warhammer 3.

In regards to the Talos thing, I’m not a particularly big fan of the nightlords but man the trilogy written by Aaron Dembski Bowden is so good. Though he just writes space marines well in general tbh like the black Templar book he did is also a a banger

Wan Wan! I started reading the first Thanquol book, it is so good. Equal parts horror and comedy!

YEEEES. I love my silly little ratboy. The Greatest of clowns and silliest of rats.

36:55 - Thanquol repeatedly demands to be let out on the first barge that comes into the dumpster of a Skaven settlement he’s in, but the Skaven barge master keeps stating that he’s trying to get a barge worthy of someone like Thanquol - a barge that would equal his eminence and stature - which Thanquol, tired, exhausted and more dedraggled than a wet skunk, does not give a toss and forces his way onto the first ramshackle excuse of a barge.
Then that’s when it’s revealed the Minor Skaven Warlord of this miniscule clan wants to bully Thanquol into leading his minions into battle against the Bretonnian knights who live on the surface, and that the barge master was just delaying Thanquol until the warlord was suited up and ready to confront him.

2:50 to be fair, I'm listening to elevens video trying to fall asleep, so this kinda applies to me

... Eleven speaks German? 6:27

22:50 it's kinda like those videos where a tiger or a gorilla runs up and hugs the human that took care of them, definitely could crush them in a second, but love them... This is probably a bad example.

Anyway, wan wan, great video eleven, I would compare this to you, but your a smart, small puppy

Let’s go!

Fyi there's normally an end-credit scene for PancreasNoWork vids.

Wan Wan, Eleven, Wan Wan.

Eleven, PancreasNoWork puts post-credit jokes into most of his videos. Please go back and re-watch that.

Wan wan!
Apparently I got sick after you got better idk why.(╥﹏╥)

6:29  Peak references peak. Wan wan!

Wan Wan ...... you missed the end credit joke XD

The name of the prophet he doesn't say is Tehenhauin. Good luck pronouncing that :P

I hope you react to more Warhammer Fantasy stuff since you seem to know more than many about Germany and other parts of Europe relevant to that world, and that's an interesting perspective. Lorebeards videos tend to be really long, but they go very in-depth as long-time fans, one of whom was a professional writer for Warhammer Fantasy for awhile.
