On the night of 20 July 1973, the world was told Bruce Lee had collapsed at forty-one Cumberland Road, his own house in Kowloon Tong. He had not. He was at a flat on Beacon Hill Road, and the man who gave the address had been standing in the right one.
He had also died once already, ten weeks earlier, in front of doctors who wrote down exactly what was wrong - a number on a hospital form that nobody connected to his death for forty-nine years. Told in seventeen parts across sixty minutes, from contemporary photographs, inquest testimony and the published medical record. Where accounts conflict - and on the hours before the ambulance they conflict badly - the film says whose account it is giving you.
