important to note that spirit urn is was reworked into a solo objective, and the team fight objective was turned into the unstable rift(think king of the hill).

The big patch is tomorrow. Could be a good time for content at minimum and a good time to learn all the new stuff with the rest of the community at maximum

19:02 Interesting question actually, however, this was an era when they were experimenting heavily with the urn mechanic so it would be changing (sometimes completely) every couple of days, Nightshift is on one night each week and so they didn’t really ‘save the strat’ for a paid tournament, it just happened to work out that way. ALSO a Walmart-sponsored tournament with a $12k prize (the second highest prize pool in deadlock history) was scheduled for that weekend and so they wanted to use the strat in this game specifically so it could be highlighted and changed in time for that tournament. Crazy time in deadlock history honestly

I hate the egg meta because pros make it work but the 0-12 venator on my team is holding his egg at 45min and keeps spamming trust the process in chat

Not sure flats reads his comments but the big huge ginormous thing I’d recommend to him is to practice the game off stream or with chat disabled during matches. Backseating is always a problem in any game, but in a game as complex as deadlock with such a passionate player base full of players who are proud of how much they’ve learned about the game it can become lowkey unbearable.

I think a ton of people genuinely want people they enjoy watching to play deadlock and so they try to give tips because they know loosing sucks but, if I’m honest, 9/10 pieces of advice from twitch chat are non-applicable and just will serve to make you mad and feel like you’re bad at the game.

This I guess goes for anyone learning the game, especially because most will have a friend who is already obsessed introduce them to it but, just have fun learn as you go and learn what you want about the game when you want to learn it. Once you get over hurdle of your first 3-5 standard matches, the learning experience is genuinely one of the best in all of gaming because it’s just so satisfying to get good at all these different elements. Also use VC and shoot the shit with strangers in your lobby (unless it’s EU) it’s easily the most fun I’ve had on coms ever.

1:11 this is so random but I can't believe Chris Pickett is also doing deadlock commentary. He's a cod caster and he got the Emmy award from champs of last year. That's awesome

even if it takes time to learn deadlock the time will pass anyways, this weeks patch can be a great point to start as everyone will learn and discover the new things together

Classic Ice fro-... yoshi's game design

If you like Phy, this is probably his best video: https://youtu.be/R3GdKvsJRYo?is=zz1azWWXzDrLtOhj
It’s absolutely hilarious!

flats i need more deadlock. once you get into it youll love the stuff like this that happens. it creates such great story lines as much as it might not be the most fun to watch in the moment

This is all outdated now btw. Everyone should try this game it’s actually the future

11:14 it slowly secures over time, the bigger the bag the faster it secures I beleive.

The speed at which Flats understands the strategy is genuinely impressive. Like he calls it instantly.

I can’t wait for this deadlock update tomorrow. I’m beyond excited.

0:33 I had this exact same feeling about deadlock and I never started until this update came out. it's like overwatch you just have to jump into it and learn as you go, once you play a couple games things start to make sense and learning the timing, map, phases and waves comes naturally. this is my first MOBA too so I have to learn that whole aspect but the gameplay and heroes feel really nice

1:46 it used to be called fight night but was renamed after some controversy, I forget what contrversy though.

If it is a mechanic built into the game and is not a bug, I think it is perfectly acceptable to use it in a tournament where money is on the line. But then again, I watch sports like F1, where bypassing and abusing rules is encouraged. This is a game issue that needs to be fixed by the game because, let's be honest other than the golden eggs, this could actually happen organically. If a B tier team is getting stomped and they manage to hold on for a comeback urn is there supposed to be a rule forcing them to deliberately abandon their final lifeline? No. It can still be a cringe strategy, but that fault does not lie with the players using it but rather with the people who made the game.

Phy and Flats in one video ? I'm feasting rn

Deadlock won't have any core changes anymore likely. They supposedly will be changing the map this time but I think its adding more high ground to the map but no one will know until tomorrow.

To be fair about the mc strategy, this was not the biggest tournament. That weekend there was a huge tournament and the patch that came out ensured that bigger tournament didn't have this abusable mechanic.
