I have both the TL1000s and SV1000s and love them both will never sell 😃👌🏾

Appreciate you taking the time to film everything in detail! It’s always a pleasure watching someone with all this knowledge work their way around a bike. Cheers.

Great content! I’ll definitely be watching more 🙌

Thank you for sharing this. It's really helpful, especially as I've recently bought an SV1000 that's been sat since 2020. I appreciate the detail, and it'll certainly help as I continue to do the work necessary to bring my SV back to life.

Absolutely phenomenal video. I watched the entire video without skipping a beat, or fast-forwarding. Thank you for the fantastic breakdown. I currently ride an SV650, and thinking of getting an SV1000 and stumbled upon this video.

When working on the chain / rear wheel, take the chain guard off 😅I love the editing

That's Pretty Awesome

I want one of these in my shed, next to my GSX S1000. Greeting from South Australia 😎.

Muchas gracias por este video

7:25 the one bike I regret selling was my custom built gen 2 SV650, did a lil street fighter style with it and painted it in this nice British racing green, it was a strong motor even in old age, 53k miles I bought it at and sold it at 59k miles for the same price I bought it for after a few months, I miss how much character it had, them Suzuki vtwins have soul for sure

Had to come by at least leave a comment. I didn’t get time to watch it yet, but what I seen if it was really awesome.

Watching here new friend

Mine sat for 17 years. It needed a new fuel pump, and took two goes through the ultrasonic injector cleaner to get the spray pattern correct. Other than that, just changed the fluids and off she chugged. I kept it in an air conditioned garage for most of that which probably helped a lot.

Getting to the front cylinder spark plug sometimes requires removal of the radiator, or at least dropping it, (unless someone knows of a workaround).

I just bought one for €700,- and a much worse state... going to work on it this weekend.
Been traded in while riding so I think its more optical.
New spark plugs ordered and all the obvious things to maintain the bike. After that a new rear shock, paint the wheels, a subframe and some new fairing and we should be good to go.
107.000km's on it, pretty much but they can handle it very well.

Been used to ride all weather so rust came in on the forks too.
Overall with some used parts its ok to work on it I think.

Have ridden it and the Dominator exhaust sound so damn good on this thing...

Hi Kerry! I have an '06 SV1000S and I am trying to check my valve clearance, and I was wondering about how you set up your suspension on your old SV650 that you used to race. Appreciate this video so much I do, you explain things very well and clear and you have multiple step by step tutorials that I will use in the future. Cheers!

$400 and 8000 miles? That’s a good deal, even if it’s been sitting. These go for $3000-$4000 used with higher mileage. I ride the same 2003 SV1000S. Great daily city bike. Easy to work on except for the front cylinder and radiator.

tenias que aver sacado el filtro de gasolina que esta dentro de la bomba de gasolina que sacastes ,
un fallo mui grande no cambiar el filtro de gasolima

so? a cable clutch i see with the mechanism.....interesting.

48:52 The reason is because of your labor rates. And even you said you'd charge them accordingly, like you're punishing them for asking you and paying you to do the job. Imagine you have your pride and joy, and can do most of the work by yourself, but unfortunately have to rely on a mechanic sometimes that you know won't care about the bike as much as you do. You know from experience they're going to forget something, or lie about something, or mess something else up and pretend they didn't. Most enthusiasts hate getting reamed over by a 'professional' so we try to save money where we can. If a mechanic was honest about how much actual time they spent on a bike instead of using flat rates arbitrarily computed, we wouldn't be so afraid of having a mechanic do everything. I would love to give my money to someone that actually cared about what they were doing with my money, but that's not even 1% of mechanics.
