The way Conan manages to carefully steer the conversation from Sona crying about losing her house and her community, to her laughing out loud at her dads mustache not being harmed is just masterful. Conan is the greatest.

“You don’t have to keep it together”
Conan is a real one. Despite their schtick, he has so much love for her, and I know he’s gonna take good care of her. Sona, you are a good example of strength here. God Bless you guys.

Sona shopping for the "my house burned down" discounts is the most Sona thing ever. Glad she's keeping her spirits up.

Conan saying @14:40 " what if you are doing this five years from now when you live in a beautiful new home and you are thriving and you have written your third best selling book" was able to paint a hopeful and beautiful future for Sona in a subtle way. I love this man

Conan losing both his parents within days from each other just before the holidays then now Sona losing their home. Gosh. Team Coco going through a lot. Hugs 😢😔

Listen to Conan’s words closely. He doesn’t bring up his parents passing recently… but they do resonate for anyone who has experienced such loss. He is noble for getting the gang together so soon, and brilliant for being able to laugh through the tragedies. And he’d be exquisitely uncomfortable with this praise.

The fact the Sona and Conan have been through so much personal loss recently, to do this podcast so soon after, and still bring joy and laughter, it’s so raw and says a lot about their character. My thoughts are with both of you. Conan is truly one of a kind.

When Sona answered, “Yeah…” you could hear and see her trying so hard to keep it together…and it just broke my heart.

A random displaced Syrian person here—when I saw the news about the fire reaching Altadena, the first thing I thought of was Sona! I truly feel like you all are part of my life now. I’m so glad to hear that you and your family are safe!

Gourley really knows how to comfort a grieving person with the maturity of an adult. I often feel awkward and lost in such situations, and I’ve even made light of my own challenges because I struggle to process and navigate difficult moments without sounding disingenuous. He was so articulate and genuine. ❤

How good is it to hear Sona’s laughter. Chill Chums forever.

You all have been on my mind all week. I couldn’t stop thinking about Sona. Sending you love.

Conan did the same 'you're fired' bit to one of his writers losing their mom due to COVID, and she cracked up. He knows what works and what doesn't, and is a great human being whom everyone respects.

Well I just cried for 45 minutes. The love and concern in Conan's voice made me love him a million times more. They are such a little family and it was great to hear her laugh!!! All the love, Sona!!!!

The look Gourley gives Sona at 26:25 when Conan says "links connected to this episode".... They immediately know they're gonna tear Conan a new one by that look.

Actually started sobbing when Conan said "i'll get you through this". May everyone have friends like this in their life to get them through the tough times. ❤

Honestly, if there is an Emmy-award for podcasts Conan should win it just for this episode. His gifts, comedic savvy and above all his humanity are on full display here.

I think millions heard Altadena and thought Sona.

I wish there was more I could do than my paltry donation to the RC and virtual hugs to all impacted.

I have been waiting to hear the status of Sona’s house. As a long time Altadena resident who also lost our house, so much of what she shared resonated. For people who don’t really know, Altadena was such a unique community in Los Angeles county with such a mix of people, housing, careers, education levels, etc. As a marathon runner, I literally set out years ago to run every single street in Altadena, and I completed that project. I have seen every single place in the town. On one street you would find a very traditional single family home, then you could turn a corner to find a multi million dollar home that literally stood in for Beverly Hills. It will probably never be the same, but I pray the spirit remains. The longest marathon is about to begin.
