the lanius being multiple people acting as a mythical soldier is so good, I choose to buy into that one

DiMA's "Are you a synth?" is BS. You are only allowed to ANSWER that your earliest memory is the beginning of the game, but there are numerous times your character demonstrates this isn't true. Here's a list I made:

You can tell Kent that you remember listening to the Silver Shroud when it first aired

Nate can tell Danse he was a soldier

You can tell Piper life before the war was "Nothing but politicians bickering"

The Mr. Gutsy who stops you when approaching the USS Constitution will identify Nate by his military service records or Nora by her driver's license

You can tell the Brotherhood doctor, possibly joking, that your dad always said you sat too close to the TV when asked about radiation exposure

You can talk about going to the library pre-war with Daisy in Goodneighbor

You can tell the Graygarden robots that you remember their inventor Doctor Edward Gray, and you remember the TV shows that the robots' personalities are based on

You remember commercials for the power tools the Mariner asks you to get

You can tell Moe Cronin that he's wrong about baseball and explain the rules to him

The Vaul-Tec representative remembers you and you remember him if encountered in Goodneighbor

You remember Bradberton as the creator of NukaCola

In the intro, both characters refer to how Shaun was conceived, Nora can remark about all the late nights it took to get that law degree and Nate rehearses a speech he wrote about his time in the war. Nate is also referenced in the computer at Fraternal Post 115 for giving veteran speeches.

I’ve always seen Dogmeat as the Fallout equivalent of the Avatar, always reborn in a new body to help restore balance to the wasteland. Dogmeat always ends up right where he or she needs to be to participate in major events.

Arguably even if true, Caesar would lean on the legend of Lanius being an iconic, unkillable Legion champion and keep the name around for a time. In a world of super mutants, floating brains, and a man set on fire surviving, why wouldn't someone be that powerful?

I really REALLY like the idea that Legate Lanius is the mask itself and whoever wears it steps into the role until they take it off.

What an absolutely horrifying thumbnail, it shall haunt my nightmares

Trying to say who fired first and find a "bad guy" of the great war kind of misses the entire point of fallout.

I always thought No Bark was the survivor of Vault 11 (the voting one). There was one guy who didn’t end it.

Hornwright Industrial was using nukes for excavation before the war in Appalachia.  It's not too hard to believe that Vault Tec got ahold of nukes.

The Legion is the one who is supplying the Fiends with Energy Weapons. One of your missions is to literally stop a dead drop from reaching the Legion.

I don't give companions any armor or care about upgrading them. They don't die, they just get right back up.

On my first playthrough of Fallout 4 I was absolutely adamant that the character that I was playing as (the sole survivor) was a synth. I think the game deliberately makes you question this factor and makes you question if you are a synth or not.

The nuke dropped on Shady Sands by Hank is more than likely from the Enclave's resources not Vault-Tec's

Theory 4: When going through the Mechanist Lair, there's a couple doors that you approach that has a voice that says, "No bio signs detected".

I have a theory: Father uploads everything needed to restart the Institute into child Sean in the non-Institute ending.

When the Sole Survivor attacks the Institute (whether it's as a BoS, Railroad, or Minutemen), the child Sean comes to you so that you would take him "home". Then you can talk to Father, who says that he wiped Sean's memories (of the time in the Institute and that he is a synth) and made him believe that you are his real parent. The reasoning is that you lost out on Sean growing up, so he is trying to "make amends".

But my theory is that this was/is the last move the Father makes to ensure the continuation of the Institute. During the game (if you did the Institute questline), you are tasked with "reclaiming" some "rogue" synths. They didn't know they were synths; their memories had been wiped, but the deactivation code still worked. This leads me to believe that Institute programming is so good that they can hide information/tasks, etc and have activation triggers. So Father uploads everything needed to restart the Institute into Sean; you take Sean with you, then he will live with you while you age and he doesn't. Then, when you die, this is the trigger for Sean to leave and start rebuilding the Institute without the threat you posed.

About talking with Dima on memories:

The Sole Survivor does mention a couple times before the start of the game, when you’re talking to the doctor on the Prydwen. When asked about radiation the sarcastic option is “My father always used to say I sat too close to the television.” While if asked about banging something nonhuman they say “Well, there was this one ugly girl/guy in college. I mean, I had to get drunk and it was a dare…. Yeesh” So you do have those memories, you just aren’t allowed to say them.

I'm not sure if anyone else spotted it, but i noticed an error. At 56:41 the video says "Richard Dunwich and his brother Constance" But constance was his Sister, not his brother

Todd Howard watching this with a notepad to fill the plot holes.
