She was the first little kid I've ever seen that actually had something she wanted to say rather than just answer questions that had been posed to her. That is extremely rare in a kid her age.

Amazing how Carson spent the first couple of minutes settling her nerves and any embarrassment she felt by asking her whether she rehearsed the entry, how there are quite a few who have fallen.......complimenting her on her shoes.... quick thinking and sensitivity - class act

Her personality, her expressions, her smile. She's the very definition of "born to be a star"

The most intelligent 7 yr old I ever seen

Drew could not be more adorable. Slipping on her entrance and then putting her teeth on his desk I'm rolling 😅

To think this little sweetie started drinking and doing drugs shortly after this, ended up in rehab at 13 and attempted suicide at 14. Heartbreaking. But somehow she turned her life around and is as sweet and adorable as a grown woman 👏 Team Drew for life

Her candid responses at that age were so funny and wise beyond her years. She was destined to be a big thing.

I love the way he talks to kids. He talks to them like they are little adults.

Johnny Carson was so good at interviewing his guests, of all ages. He is a legend.

At the tender age of 7 years, she responded boldly and marvellously to all questions flawlessly in the presence of huge crowd, who in turn responded cheerfully. Hats  off. 👍

Only Johnny Carson could have handled with such grace and humor to make it totally entertaining. He never made jokes at the desk for his own ego when talking to guests…much like hosts today when they interview. They don’t make em like Carson anymore. He was pure class.

it's hard to believe such a bright and lively little girl was having such a rough time at home. she must have been born with such a fiery spirit.

She was darling and she still is.  She has been through so much, but found her strength.  Stay cool, Drew.

She is still now as natural, fun, sincere and charming as when she was 7. Personality didn't change ❤😅 God bless her.

“Do you know what a commercial is?”
“Of course I do. I’m in some.” 🤣

Johnny is so gentle with Drew - no talking down, sensitive, etc...  And you can see the charm flowing both ways.  Priceless!

How does a 7 year old steal the show effortlessly like that? I completely lost track of time and enjoyed every minute of it. Props to Carson for letting her shine.

Every child needs someone to talk to her the way he does--to be taken seriously and really seen.

she had so much intelligence and personality for being only 7 years old! so adorable! she was born to be a star. this is such a great interview 🥺

Too bad we don't have a Johnny Carson these days!!
