Wow man the best thing here is not that it is at 60 FPS, but it is that the internal resolution has finally been raised, no more wobbly polygons, i always wanted to see that, and this is well synced with the original pacing to, the intro in all mods that raised the FPS would always finish before the music even got to the middle there, now it is correctly in sync, i see there are somethings to correct and improve but man this looks amazing already :)
EDIT: Oh wow, the project even has up to 480 fps support, hardware ray tracing (shadows) and experimental DLSS / DLSS 5 NR and even VR support, with a native Quest build. Whoever did this is amazing /EDIT
Oh man, when I read the title I thought "I gonna play this for sure today, but I hope I get the PC version emulated on Android as well". Super happy that it actually has a native Android port.
I played the shit out of Star Fox as a kid but when I tried to emulate it a few years back I was shocked by the frame rate. I honestly thought it was just emulation until I researched the topic and found out how bad those Super FX games really did run back then. I couldn't play it that suttery then, but will enjoy it today.
Starfox SNES at 60fps makes me think of that random boss stage in Warioware for the Wii where ROB the robot was holding the NES Zapper attacking you... and I half-expect seeing him in this
I ABSOLUTELY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY love this game!! Seeing this Smooth and CRISP is so wild for me! There's barely any crunchy/ chewy graphics. Seeing this run at 60fps is so CRAZY! I agree with anyone who said this is what they saw this game as a kid. this is what i see/saw too! This game had some good music and i liked the animal noise/banter between Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy. Going into the Andross space Armada music SO GOOD! I mean other stages had good music too but something about that stage was great. I think its just because they speed into it is what it was for me. Id like to see one more video of classic Starfox and you just checking out the effects from the options sometime down the metaphorical road.
This Starfox port looks crazy running at 60 and at a higher resolution. It probably wouldn't be too taxing to run raytracing on top of this, but that would change the look even more than the crisp edges and smooth gradients. It could be a toggle.
This is really cool! It reminds of that one Warioware Smooth Moves minigame where the game is rendered out as if it was on more powerful hardware, good stuff!
Hell yeah man! I've been following and testing this for Kando! This is easily one of hte most exciting PC ports to have happened. For decades I've wanted an HD, 60fps version of Star Fox which had been shackled to the low fps and low res SNES limitations. :)
OG Starfox is so underrated. The music is great. The level transitions are pretty engaging. And even in its original framerate, it still plays really well. I don't remember there being much actual slowdown or dropped frames.
