Barbell Biryani joins RJ Hemanth for a rare, unfiltered conversation about Telugu movie reviews, Naga Vamsi’s phone call, the Peddi copyright strike, Pawan Kalyan, politics and the predictions he got wrong.

For years, Barbell and Barbell Pitch Meetings have reviewed Telugu cinema without worrying too much about how producers, actors or fan bases might respond. But what happens when the reviewer becomes the subject of the review?

In this conversation, RJ Hemanth asks Barbell about:

Naga Vamsi’s phone call and what was actually discussed
The Peddi review and copyright-strike controversy
Criticism from Telugu film producers and fan communities
Pawan Kalyan and Barbell’s earlier political observations
Nepotism, repeated opportunities and the advantage of surviving failure
The difference between criticism, trolling and personal attacks
His responsibility as a Telugu movie reviewer
Whether Barbell’s standards remain consistent across different films
What he believes his actual role in Telugu cinema is

This is neither a defence of Barbell nor an attempt to prove him wrong.

It is an attempt to understand how he arrives at an opinion and whether he still stands by it when the reaction becomes bigger than the review.

Do reviewers influence audiences, or do audiences give reviewers more influence than they actually possess?
